If YOU need for some reason to move faster than speed of light, then you are very welcome to go play PoE 1 with all that stupid Flame Dash.
Players who want more movement speed are usually those complaining to dying too much and needing more portals... we can wonder why.
Movement speed is fast enough, maybe even too much.
Have you tried doing 4th Sekhema's trial without at least 30% MS boots? If you don't get MS boon, you will fail last boss guaranteed just because you don't have enough speed to do boss mechanic.
It's a miserable experience.
So yes, it's mandatory in current state of the game and wouldn't be an issue if we had blinks/dashes.
Guy ur replying to is hybolically comparing good ms to flame dash and flicker type builds in poe 1. They arent a serious person.
One cannot help but wonder how such a lust for loot can affect a persons mind. Although these exiles appear to be our salvation, it would not take much for them to turn on us as easily as they fight gods and demons.

I dont think MS should be a stat, same as Magic Find.
You either have it on every single character or you are in a disadvantage.
It makes the balance harder too, boss moves have to be doable with a range of movementspeed now. You could do much tighter boss fights if everyone had the same MS.

Rarity affects both the amount and the type of currency you gain.
0 and 100 Rarity are completely different games.
Droprates are heavily nerfed, because they are balanced around Rarity.
Even in HCSSF I prioritise Rarity over Resistances, because of how mandatory Rarity is to get Regals + Exalts and to upgrade your gear during campaign.
Is that really intended?
And if it is intended: Is it a good thing?

My dad already runs poor gear just cause it has rarity then tries to remember the good gear for bosses. Hes not a good player but even he recognises rarity value.
(If u have doubts about his ability, my guy ran leer mask on his poison ranger cause orange = good. Never mind it literally reducing his damage)

As devs stated in the interview wanting guaranteed movement speed is like wanting guaranteed damage mods on weapons. "Why dont every staff have +7 to all spells i cant do damage :(((" I really don't understand the obsession with movement speed...

The terrible gacha crafting and the terrible droprates balanced around Rarity just amplify each other into an enormous problem.

I can't really imaging using boots with no MS. I guess it's good to make an option, but I would make boots without MS less often.

The game should have a set maxiumum speed ingame that cant be altered. 0% increased when starting to play. and increasy slowly over the lvling experience to a maximum set 35% movement speed at endgame

Weapons have guaranteed mods, there is literally a bow with extra arrow and a crossbow with extra grenade, body armours have chad implicits too its hardly unusual to ask for some MS on boots to be hardlined because its mandatory anyway.
If that was their response it was a bad one.
