1 death mapping is and always will be dogshit.
if we wanted severe penalties we'd play hardcore
maybe there needs to be a "mediumcore" league? I don't know why GGG want to die on this hill - just reduce bonuses in maps if people die. reward players who never die because they're playing meta builds and they're a streamer so they get to play like it's a job and never die and let the rest of us who make occasional mistakes or play like normal human beings with jobs and shit have some fun too
but no, game is not for fun game is for challenge and punishment only. not fun.
You don't need meta build to not die in maps. You just need build that is not a complete shit.
I don't die in maps, even. My slow-ass, janky warrior I'm abandoning until GGG unfucks that part of the passive tree and actually plays some warrior in endgame, gets through just fine. I just dislike the pressure it puts on you to never make a mistake or else you die.
Plus all kinds of other annoyances like "getting pushed 3-4 screens across by the ball of gigaspeed breach monsters who can't kill you but also won't let you get a single attack off because you don't instaclear screens" which is super duper mega fun.
Believe it or not you can survive and clear maps just fine and still hate the 1-death mapping decision. Something I've yet to see from all the "JuST doNT Die" responses that are all unique and original and indicative of great critical thinking skills.

Well, critizing 1 portal rule over and over again even after devs said it will stays is also very original and definitely contributes to constructive feedback.

Sorry you're having a cry over some people having a different opinion and continuing to provide that feedback to GGG as they've asked us to do.
I'll pray for you.

I may have misunderstood but they can go back on their changes so much so that they will now change to 6 portals on bosses.
They want to try to maintain 1 portal but anything can happen, we are in EA so I think it's worth people insisting on their positions.

I'm watching the live stream and FINALLY they got to the subject of ONE portal and The huge XP loss. And confirmed this is thier vision of teh game, and if you happen to be in a situation where you're dying too much, just Git Gud, Your not supposed to play end game if you suck.
Yes. That's correct. Nobody ever beat Mario by being bad at it. You had to continually improve until you could beat the game.
Getting to 100 in a Path of Exile game, whether POE1 or POE2, means:
- Constantly improving your gameplay
- Continued investing in your gear until it gets super powerful
- Continued investing in your gems to get the max power out of them
- Figuring out skill and passive tree combinations to maximize damage output and defenses such that you clear maps without worry of death
- Figuring out boss mechanics such that you kill them before they kill you
The game is working as intended. I for one am glad Jonathan & Mark confirmed that vision.
Beating Mario took a little skill but not much time. Poe takes a ton of time but a little skill.

40k drop in daily peak after the announcement. Great that they are doing a few little tweaks. Needs a lot more work. To slow to be this uninteresting and tedious. Note for the git gud trolls: no where in this post did I say it needs to be easier. Get over yourselves, your not special.

absolutely no change to early game nor passive reset costs
guess there is no reason to try anything and only play streamers builds.
yet another example of them sucking off streamers and giving everyone else the finger

Bro...it's Monday, people are back at work rofl.
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't super jazzed with the updates announced personally (I mostly care about warrior), but the stream/interview were both very well received.
I wish people would stop trying to pretend they're Michael Pachter and cosplay a gaming analysts by looking at concurrency numbers. Very, very, very few of y'all have any idea what concurrency numbers really mean beyond the direct definition, rofl.
