Dissapointed with GGG today.

I watched the Interview. I hate the 1 portal.
But that's not what they said. Mark said more than Jonathon on the topic. And he acknowledged there is an issue. They both said that they DO NOT want to go back on the 1 portal rule. However, Mark clearly acknowledged, and I am paraphrasing here, that he sees an issue with how punishing the end game is. How could he not? He admitted it needs balance - some sort of change. It is far too punishing. Maybe not for meta builds. But for more casual players, ssf players, and many builds, it is simply not fun. It's simple, and it's a bout dopamine. The LOWS are too LOW, and the HIGHS are not HIGH enough. I'm not in homeostasis, I'm in a dopamine defecit when I play this game. I quit. It's not fun for me. So they need to figure some shit out. But my interpretation of what Jonathon and Mark said, is actually that they have not completely closed the door on going back on the 1 portal rule. Most people either hate it, or don't care, very few that I know actually like it. Personally, I fail to see what it adds to the game and I think that it just takes the fun away. IT actually sucks, so bad, i hate it, but, IDK. Maybe the game isn't for me. IDK. I don't like games that make me mad, I don't play them for long. More quant in maps please

And no one is ever going to miss any of you that "threatens" to not play poe2 anymore. We simply wouldn't even know you exist if it weren't for these useless "byebye threads".

" exactly that! They didn't close the issue and even said there was a problem, if they can't solve it any other way, the 6 portals will return, it already happened in the endgame bosses. |

" Wow, just out here like, "I lie to my friends" imagine ruining all your friends' potential fun because you're shit at a game. |

6 map portals is something I'm personally against. It doesn't make sense. Maps are plentiful and bountiful. If you're dying in a map then you've overjuiced it and you need to scale back some.
Throwing portals up as a defensive mechanic is a silly idea and something that I didn't like in poe 1 either, but it was necessary there due to the thousands of animations per second going on. I think their compromise on pinnacle bosses is a pretty good one considering those are the ones that you actually need to know the mechanics of. You already have this in game with Breachstones (Xesht). Arbiter and the rest of them will get it added soon. You also conveniently forgot about Mark talking about dealing with the other "axis" of the death penalty, and working on scaling that down a bit. |
