One Death Maps is a monumental failure.

If you die in a map then grind easier maps until you get gear upgrades. Or wait until the game has more content (4-6 months). There is only so much to do with the limited amount of items, classes, and skill that are available anyways. I ran out of steam after about 100 hours. Played the game, died a few dozen times, lost xp, lost items, lost maps, and stopped playing until more stuff comes out. It really is that simple. play something else and come back later.

So you're completely ignoring the parts of the game that are broken and cheesing the game like I assumed, makes sense why you would have a contrarian opinion.

Typical forum L.
Im not ignoring viable feedback but i do ignore things like whining over xp loss on death and wanting to remove death penalties and having unlimited tries, thats not feedback its just whine. I do acknowledge the fact that the game isnt properly balanced atm which was expected since its still EA and will probably get addressed in future patches but this has nothing to do with xp loss or the 1 portal policy.
Thats why i stick to the things that do work atm and avoid the things that dont. What u call "cheesing the game" is in reality just me using the tools and mechanics available to make a good build which might get nerfed in the future but as of now works as intended. FYI GGG is very well know for not doing mid league balance changes unless some unintended mechanic is causing server issues or isnt working properly. Any balance changes wont happen untill they reset the server and start a new league and fresh economy just like it has always been which is the best way to make sure people dont have their 300 divine build bricked 2 days after they invested all their currency.
If they keep 1 portal map over all it won't end well in the long run. The hardcore player base is not big enough to support the game. They need to make it a mode people can select if they want to play it.

I would honestly love to see GGG do a poll on all of they social media and see what the players want. I have over 30 people from poe1 that don't play at all. I have stopped playing after that last interview they did. They prove everything was just rushed and thrown together. They can't even take the time to give poe1 a new season or even give a date when we can expect something. I honestly don't even know if I would play it at this point.

This is completely okay. I also have many POE 1 die-hard friends that are screaming for a POE 1 season. They are different games, with different design philosophies. If you want to blast with minimal risk and punishment, POE 1 is a great game, arguably better than POE 2. In the next POE 1 league, I am going to make the biggest glass cannon, with 6 portals as my main defensive layer (like I do most leagues). I obviously am not going to do this in POE 2.

They have said end-game was rushed, which again is okay. They are in early access with 200,000+ people doing testing for them to collect as much feedback and data points as possible. Feedback doesn't mean changing the vision and core mechanics of the game, it means tuning it whilst respecting the vision.

If you are unhappy, I highly recommend POE 1. It will be a great game for you, with minimal punishment.
I fell like something has to give at this point. If they want to keep systems the way they are then we should have at least more that one portal to use.

If we must have one portal then they need to change other things. Like reducing the damage output from things. The amount of one shot attacks are crazy. Or give buffs to armour and evasion.
Feedback :
I'm also in this camp - "As for me, I agree with OP and all those other players saying the same thing"

I have two friends who have stopped playing due to the 10% penalty and random deaths in an instant - one slow step forward - then 2 instant steps back....

They may not be GGG's target audience for the long haul I guess ?

ps - dying 6 times in pinnacle boss fight and loosing 10% each time also felt
a disincentive to try again any time soon.

Cheers and happy grinding.

To be honest i dont care whether or not they allow more portals, its not a disincentive or make or break to me at all, it just makes me build differently from poe 1

Xp loss has been part of this genre for decades and is part of the challenge and serves its purpose very well, in fact to me this is one of the reasons that separates the good arpg's that people play for decades from the casual dumpster fire arpg's with barely 50 hours worth of playtime. Besides it is very much possible to make a build that can do most content without ever getting 1KO by trash mobs at all its just a matter of experience and knowing how to scale the right defensive layers. The only issue atm is that some defensive options are just way better than others which is something they have to address in future patches

Yes u are probably right, casuals was never the target audience this game is clearly made for the more hardcore audience which also tends to be the ones that stick around for years to come. But this is also part of the reason the game has longevity and replay value. Its not meant to be something u play for 50 hours and complete everything first try.

Well everyone who played poe in the past knows very well that taking on pinnacle bosses is dangerous especially if u havent done the fight multiple times and know every single mechanic, but this is also what makes it challenging. Besides i would never enter a pinnacle boss fight i havent done before without having just leveled my char or dont care for more xp on that char.

In the end my guess is they might give in on the 1 portal policy at some point but to me it doesnt really matter, i played poe 1 for like 15k+ hours and ill probably stick around for another 15k in poe 2 regardless of 1 portal or not
I find it funny that everyone has 10 friends who already quit because of something they don't like (portals, XP penalty)

Ok... I have 1000 friends who play POE 2 and will quit if you remove the XP penalty or make the game easier (portals, etc.).

You don't believe me? Well, prove that I lie.

Or the prophets aka ggg must do this or that or game will die (when everythong point in the other direction :D) . I tell YOU THINGS WILL END BADLY !!! :D
Okay. I don't care for forum nonsense I came here to voice feedback.
If you're not going to listen, and instead going to pretend that the feedback isn't valid, you will be ignored.

If you're sooo good at games, and PoE 2 is so easy, go play professionally, you must be good enough to make money so why aren't you?.
What are you doing wasting your time here replying to forum threads if you're such a "God gamer" that PoE 2 is a cakewalk and you can play it in your sleep?
