Listening to the community too much is what ruined PoE 1 for many of us.

POE became the greatest and sitll is the best action rpg through player feedback. Funny that OP has no supporter packs and post some bs like this, those of us who play 1000hrs and many supporter packs love POE 1 and are happy they listen which is why it's the top ARPG!

I love GGG and there response to feedback! I've played this game for over 10 yrs and still enjoy it. POE 2 has lot sof work to do but if they ignore player feedback it's not going to be solid full game like POE 1.

The truth is, the majority of players who aren't constantly complaining are either too busy actually playing the game, enjoying it, or simply don't feel the need to post every time something doesn't go their way. They exist and they're just not making noise 24/7 on forums or social media.

Going down the path of logic that you yourself decided upon:

Most people that are unhappy with the game are too busy playing other things, enjoying those other things, and simply don't feel the need to post about their disappointment with this random game known as PoE.

We know PoE isn't that popular because, as far as "live service" games go, it isn't doing very good. Sure, PoE beats random single player games that are one-and-done, but in regards to games intended for people to keep coming back to... PoE is not up there.

Hell... let me go see if this is pretty much true...

... Yup. Damn, that's actually worse than I thought.

Warframe is a game that a lot of gamers STILL NEVER EVEN HEARD OF. And yet, it's currently doing about TEN TIMES better??? That's crazy. Warframe can't even get its shit straight. It hasn't had a proper endgame since day 1, and all you do is farm overwhelming character power for absolutely no reason whatsoever. But, hey, PoE could never get its endgame situated, either, huh? Our current endgame (maps) is what they had for a PLACEHOLDER about a decade ago, back when Piety in Lunar Temple was the final boss of the game.

Man, the echo chamber in this community is intense. INTENSE. But when you zoom out, it's actually pretty embarrassing. This game probably survives as a business for the same reason something like Fire Emblem Heroes does: The diehard whales solo carrying the whole thing on their backs. Because, in regards to popularity amongst actual gamers... these games just don't hold up.

Now I'm just curious:

LOL

This game is by all means considered dead. And PoE is only about 2x its players??? And you want to sit there and act like you got high ground in this discussion???

I'm going to go ahead and assume the answer to my removed post was yes, so let's work from that basis. I'm sure you saw it, given your posting habits.

PoE1 was released on Steam at 1.0, as a late announcement, after it had most of its players playing through the standalone client. It was in 2013, and Steam was attrociously bad at pre-releasing content for live service games, while you were able to preload data for the standalone client.

It will never, ever be the case that a direct comparison of PoE vs. any other steam release will measure well directly.

However, even ignoring that entirely, you're also inexplicably linking a steamchart for PoE1 now, today, when it has not had a new league for 9 months, and when PoE2 is a week into it's second patch, which a lot of people were hoping would course correct. I think I remember you from another thread being the person that claimed it is a mistake to develop toward league style players instead of standard players, so I guess that's where that ludicrous argument comes from, but still; it remains ludicrous.

As for your argument that "not many people have heard of warframe"... I just don't know where your delusion ends, frankly. It's ranked very positive from 600,000 reviews on steam and has been endlessly praised in videgame media for a decade as a great experience. Here's a hot tip for you: The entire genre of ARPGs are niche, and every individual Diablo title after 1 vastly outstrips the entire ARPG population for everything else in the genre combined in terms of players.

I don't get what the steam charts are representing here, the only conclusion I can draw is its shocking that GGG abandoned support for PoE1.

PoE 2 is bad and is losing players. But POE 1 has worse number than POE 2... It is shocking how fast players dropped PoE1 and switched to PoE2 despite how bad it is...

I conclude I don't understand POE players at all. Maybe they will eat up anything GGG feed them.

You even MENTION that PoE is (supposed to be) a game people "are coming back to", and you use numbers from a year long league to illustrate that? You seriously need to take off your standard glasses and realize that 99% of players play leagues.

Of course no one is going to play a game you're "supposed to get back to" when GGG have made it clear that they are not supporting this game. Warframe, as you mention, is also in the live service category, got a huge patch less than a month ago. And they are also making a completely new game (Soulframe).

GGG created these numbers. GGG killed PoE1. No one is playing because the game isn't supported. Hell, we even saw PoE2 numbers, a completely new game, dip down into 3-40k before they released 0.2. If we got a completely new league on friday, I can more or less guarantee you that it would surpass 200k. If GGG showed the same "interest" in PoE2 as they do with PoE1, it would also die in days.

PoE1's seasonal live service model has worked VERY good for 10+ years. It has consistently been a top 10 game on Steam the first weeks of any league. Calling it "not popular" is just factually wrong.

Play SSF and never look up any build guides. Fixed all your issues.

That's like saying the solution to all the problems in the world is to stay in your basement and avoid going outside.
Zoom-zoom, timed challenges (clear speed), arcade-ish gameplay started with... Breach. And it looks like this was GGG decision. Maybe it was inevitable - game got more complex and gameplay simplified. And this type of complexity can be overcome with tools like PoB.

Do you even read what you're replying to?

I said the data your side brings up lacks quantifiable information, why are you questioning me about data?

Your side says that loot drops are too low, so your side should provide proof of it being so.

Honestly, do you even read what you reply to or are you just looking to argue?

Yes i did, it was some boring slog about you being right and all other being wrong because they don't have quantifiable data. You yourself are above such concerns clearly, your side doesn't need data, it is divine.

Also who is we? I called you out on your bullshit, i'M on noones side. There are no real sides anyway. GGG themselves patched in a guarantued rare drop from bosses in the campaign, this is already a strong indicator that their loot model is undertuned. Have fun with you 2h mace witch.

There are hundreds of pictures on current pilfering rings with provided timeframes that show to currency is low.
No that i actzually go to play, i have to say that with juiced t13+ maps and rarity the drops slowly get better, but are not even at a 1/10 from 0.1 (which was oversaturated as hell so not really that much of an indicator)

Another thing is the div/ex fraction, we're at 80:1 in SC currently showing that ex are rare, really rare. rare enough that people may not juice their waystones with it.

But why bother, as long as you don'T get some form of excelsheet provied by GGGs backend, you yourself will stand strong against all comers, you don't need data, the others do.

hilarious.
