Listening to the community too much is what ruined PoE 1 for many of us.

Hey, exiles! As a reminder, please refrain from making personal attacks against others as the forums are for civil, constructive discussion of the game.

... Yup. Damn, that's actually worse than I thought.

Warframe is a game that a lot of gamers STILL NEVER EVEN HEARD OF. And yet, it's currently doing about TEN TIMES better??? That's crazy. Warframe can't even get its shit straight. It hasn't had a proper endgame since day 1, and all you do is farm overwhelming character power for absolutely no reason whatsoever. But, hey, PoE could never get its endgame situated, either, huh? Our current endgame (maps) is what they had for a PLACEHOLDER about a decade ago, back when Piety in Lunar Temple was the final boss of the game.

Weird take to compare a game that just got a big patch recently to one that's been in a content drought for nearly 9 months.
Both games are cyclical, they spike in activity around new updates and naturally dip during downtime. Comparing Warframe at a fresh-content high to PoE in a lull isn't exactly a fair or meaningful comparison.

Also, calling Warframe a game that "a lot of gamers STILL NEVER EVEN HEARD OF" is kind of wild.
It’s been around for over a decade, had huge moments in the spotlight, and has maintained a strong, recognizable presence in the gaming space for years. It’s not some obscure title, it's practically a staple in the free-to-play looter shooter genre.

Nonetheless, the loud voices are just a vocal minority. Everyone who’s not constantly complaining is just busy playing games or enjoying other parts of life.
Most of us are perfectly capable of enjoying a simple hobby, without constantly nitpicking or trying to frame personal shortcomings as deep flaws in game design.

I definitely like the direction chosen for PoE2, I don't want it to be the same game all over again. Didn't play yet, as I avoid games in EA. I have enough games already to not play products where developers themselves clearly say that it is unfinished.

The launch of PoE2 EA was massive, I was surprised that so many people insisted on paying to play a product that had just a fraction of the intended content. For me communication from GGG was clear - if you don't want to deal with obviously unfinished products... WAIT. And this is what I do.

Still - what I see and hear, even the complaints, makes me very positive for this game. I hate that in PoE1 white monsters are actually there to benefit the player (with flask and other recharges) instead of being an obstacle. This is silly. I hate that a lot of the gameplay is "run to the finish and ignore everything but the loot". I hate that screen can be saturated well over the point of unreadability with hundreds of projectiles that most have originated from the player.

It is silly and doesn't give me any joy. If for someone PoE is good because you can strategize which items you buy when to make your numbers ridiculously overpowered and that is exactly what you want from the game - ok, I guess. I want something else.
Originally PoE1 was bad and it is proven by amount of people playing Ruthless, which is the "original PoE". No one actually plays it. 0.1% of total playerbase.

So it's not "many of us", it's a minority who want to ruin the good zoom game for most people who came into PoE for zoom.

Most people want zoom and instadefeating the boss with one hit.

It's proven that 0.2 got just 200k players compared too 500k on 0.1 launch. And it's with Lightning Spear which actually makes it somewhat playable.

Remove current Lightning Spear and 0.2 will have 50k. Most of those would be casuals playing Campaign.

Ruthless is nowhere close to the "original PoE".
It failed due to many reasons cause it could have been a much better "legacy" experience, but the devs decided that it would be "harder" by making the mode as tedious and limiting as possible.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
OP 100% right. Too bad they are already starting to dumb down PoE 2.
are we still arguing listening to your customers makes your business worst?

What do you mean? PoE2 was a dumbed down version of PoE1 from the get-go.

I'm going to go ahead and assume the answer to my removed post was yes, so let's work from that basis. I'm sure you saw it, given your posting habits.

I dunno what my "posting habits" are, but no, I did not see any post before this one that I'm quoting.

Should I keep reading the rest of this post? I hesitate, if it's based on an incorrect assumption.

No. I did not see your removed post. Want to repeat it, in whatever way doesn't get it removed? (I do not report posts, ever. For the record.)

Ok! Good point. So let's take a look!

WF's last patch came out March 19, 2025. So let's check out... HELL, let's check out BEFORE this patch hit!

Steady 40k-60k area.

I'll grant that - no different from PoE or any other game - once the patch hits, there's a big spike, then a tapering off of that spike back into normalcy. But look how steady WF's interest is, just generally speaking.

Now let me once again show you some PoE stats.

This game is DEAD in the water, until a League shows up every now and then to slam adrenaline into its heart for temporary, artificial life.

FOURTEEN DAYS after the last League hit, about 50% of the players are gone!

TWO MONTHS into it, and the adrenaline is out of the system, and the game is clinically dead once more.

I have some bad news for you, sir.

People don't like PoE.

Even its own diehard fanbase doesn't like it enough to keep playing after a couple months. That's actually crazy. People are still playing─

WELL LET'S CHECK! (I love this new tool that I found...)

Yo, more people are playing Terraria, and that game doesn't get updates. Maybe some things get added here and there, but PoE could add 1 skill gem and it's a bigger content update than anything Terraria gets. The game has been the same thing since day 1.

Hell, speaking of which, let's check...

I'm going to be honest. This one SURPRISED me. CSGO (or CS2, whatever) is the top steam game! THIS game has been the same for DECADES. There is LITERALLY no mechanical difference between CS2 and CS 1.6. It effectively only has a graphical upgrade.

What's the secret?

People LIKE the game. As in, the ACTUAL game. The CORE game. People love it. Counterstrike doesn't need a new gimmick every 2 months just to get a temporary shot of adrenaline. This game can remain UNCHANGED for DECADES, and it outperforms PoE by a multiplier so immense that it sounds sarcastic.

I'm not interested in your "different genre" arguments. Because nothing I've brought up is about comparing the flat numbers from one game to the flat numbers of another game. It's about percentages within the games themselves. Just refer back to the stats from PoE, and only PoE. People aren't playing it. Having a new League come out - the thing that everyone loves to say is the ENTIRE POINT of PoE that I am just totally missing out on - and only getting TWO MONTHS out of it, is completely insane to have as the pedestal that we're worshiping here.

If I'm being honest, I just want YOU GUYS to stand up for yourselves.

You should all want more. For your own selves.

I already voted with my wallet & time. I'm happy with other stuff. I still want an ARPG, but PoE aint it! And I've spent enough time in the sunk cost fallacy with it.
