I'm saying goodbye to the game

Unfortunately, this new league was the worst I've ever played, everything is very strange and what bothers me the most is having good items and still getting instant death all the time. The game is very boring! You force us to play Huntress and I don't want that, I want diversity, so see you soon in the next league, or never again.

people seem to think the game is fully released, it's an early access, essentially a beta.

The game at 1.0 is not going to be anything like 0.2 or even 0.1. it's going to get iterated on over the upcoming year+ and change every patch. Metas will shift and get re-defined. Good items will become bad, then tweaked back up over time. Bad items will also get tweaked up or down as needed.

if you can't get over that, maybe you shouldnt play early access/betas.

This. +1

People can actually be blind selectively I realized now that I start lurking in these deep dark corners called the forums.

I mean, come on.....
You literally pay with your own good money and then GGG states it is STILL IN EARLY ACCESS.

I cannot imagine what would happen if people who bought POE2 actually play tested POE1 back when even Brutus can make you pull out your hair.

ROFLMAO, Still sane, Exile?

What is included and what they have done in the Patch 0.2 is very telling. It tells us they dont understand the Community at all.
Also they focus on the wrong things in development and have an awful Patch Cycle.

Well if they focus on the wrong things is very objective, but instead of nerfing everything to the ground at one go you do changes over time. Stat stacking needed a nerf, do it mid league, let people cry their Build got nerfed. But when you do such a nerf mid League, then those People have the advantage of pivoting to sth. else cause they normally have way more funds.

Then they ignored certain skills that were absolutely useless completely. Physical Quarterstaff for example.

The devs seems to forget this is early access and seemingly treat it like a full release. They coul just do small Patches instead of one big one. What tehy do now is a result of 0.2.0 and just patchwork.
Going for small Patches accomplishes two things. Better long term motivation for the players. And the devs get more feedback for certain things and a better insight into what the Community wants.

EA or not, what they did with 0.2 was completely careless and if you don't agree then why are the devs patching the fuck out of the game every single day ? Would have been easier to learn from their lesson, revert back to 0.1 and just add huntress to that than to try and clean up the mess they've created here. You can't take an axe to every single element of your game simultaneously and expect balance to come from it. Now we have 1 working build and its a glass cannon. Can't build a single character with good defenses. Armour still useless. These are central game components not like oddball peripheral things that GGG should hopefully get to one day.

I just killed Arbiter at lowest difficulty and I am struggling to find any reason to continue playing even though I want to. How bad is that?

they were doing that in December and people were complaining about the swings in power as they came out swinging the first few weeks before christmas. Nerfing stuff live as they found over powered things. so you can thank complaining players not understanding it's a beta for the fact that they now save up changes and do bigger patches.

GGG is damned if they do and damned if they dont.

Going into this beta i fully expected there to be swings in power as they release new ascendancies and content and adjust. I expected weekly or bi-weekly updates & patches. and i saw that for hte first few weeks, then radio silence after the holidays until just a couple weeks ago. I hope they keep at it and get back on track with more actively updating the game.

I want the game to be good and i want to pay it as it develops.

I was going to reply but my face is tired.

All their core ideas are bad and they think they are good.

Because they did everything wrong. They nerfed things a couple days after release. Release was 6th of December on 9th the first thing tehy did was nerf Gas Grenade and Gas Arrow. Of course people complian then. They basically couldnt even play the game and then a nerf comes. Thats just not the right way to do.

Firs thing after a release is Hotfixes, sure. Thats obvious. But afterwards you dont, you simply dont go and nerf sth. The first thing you do is Buffing sth thats severely underperforming. After things settled, then you can do nerfs. Stat stacking or Mana Stacking. Also if you do these nerfs dont nerf it to the Ground. The first nerf was 0.1.0b and nerfed Gas Arrow and Gas Grenade by over 50%. Thats a massive nerf.

But what im mostly talking about is actual QoL changes and Content changes to the game mid League. There is no reason to wait for that.
Why wait for everything until the next League, still a disgrace to call it a new league actually.

The problem with early access in todays gaming market is every game slaps that on. When every game is early access, none of them are.

Diablo 4 wasn't early access, but I'd argue this is still more flushed out than that was on release. Almost no one that you see complaints from is complaining about "Completeness" however, but direction. Read the negative steam reviews, tell me when you find "X character doesn't exist" or "I cant use daggers".
