Actually, I don't know if it's the case in the US, or w.ever you're from, but in France (Im french) gay community complain a lot about beeing categorised as gay and not human beeing, they also complain a lot about beeing victims of discrimination. What I mean by this, is that some people make a difference between gay and the rest of the persons just because of their sexual orientation. The gay community is absolutely right to be complaining about this, but, what I don't understand (maybe because it's not working the same way in your country), by making a thread like this, YOU deliberately create a difference between gay people, and heterosexual people. So if you are "fighting" which I understand, respect and support, for equality between every body (gay, hetero....) why did you choose to create that distinction?
Creating a thread to search for people from the same country or something like that is understandable, because you share the same language, but looking or wondering if there is any other people who have the same sexual orientation doesn't add anything? Or maybe Im just wrong? For exemple what I like to do sexually only concern me and my partner. "Si vis pacem, para bellum" Last edited by diebymee#2768 on Jun 20, 2013, 7:58:27 AM

" now the question one must ask him/herself is: am I gay? I seriously have a hard time answering that... I guess the simplest answer I can give is , bi...maybe...sort of...I think I don't think I should start talking about my sexual orientation...it's pretty...weird even if this is the off-topic section, it would be inappropriate...and embarrassing
Spoiler
on top of my head, I got 7 fetishes, maybe more

" Sorry, Dear, but you got it from the wrong end. Its been society that brainwashed gay people and forced them to feel different than others. Its been prejudice of society to cause uncomfortable feelings about being "not normal" in gays. So for me it is perfectly clear that people, whose life is by nature dedicaded to fight against the prejudice of the socalled "normal" society, will look for a chance to find solidarity, either from somebody from their group, or from people who are tolerant. This behaviour is just a strategy to survive in a mainly hostile surrounding. You as a french "normal" can not understand it, until you get out of your comfortable corner and start to be a part of a minority of wich kind ever. BTW, I am German, I know France a little bit, and therefore Iknow why you don´t understand. |

" Im not talking about what caused the gay community to be as you said brainwashed, (if they are... which is your opinion, and I agree with moderation), I am just talking, about what some people from the gay community have been doing. I understand that feeling imcomfortable because a proportion of the rest of the society is saying that you are not normal can make people search for people from the same group. I can just agree with you on this point. But, doing that, assuming, (correct me if Im wrong) they fight, as I said, to be considered as normal persons (which they obv. are), it's not the best way to help that, because they choose, to exclude themself from the rest of the society by doing such. One last thing, about your "French...get out of your corner...stuff", Im sorry, but I have to tell you two things that will prove that you are absolutely wrong on this point. I am right now typing from China, Yiwu, Zhejiang (for my studies/internship), so, I am ... Kinda out of my corner. And secondly, even when I am in France, Im kinda part of a minority as my dad is morrocan. (My mom is french, but still). So next time, before you start judging people about how openminded they are, or actually, aren't, try to think about it twice. Because pretending that I don't understand because I am French, or w.e, isn't actually a typical move from someone openminded, so maybe the less openminded person here, is not me. Being gay is soooooo gay.
I'm in an abusive relationship with life. It keeps beating the hell out of me and I'm too cowardly to leave it.

" I did not intend to offend you, but with your answer to my post you answered your own question: If you want to be considered as normal, but in a certain way are different to the main part of society, you got only two choices: Either you hide the part of yourself, that makes you different, taking the risk that your socalled friends leave you exactly the moment they find out about your real personality... Or: You tell everybody in wich way you are different and show people that you are as normal human as they are.(beside that little difference, that does not harm anybody) This is the way to educate people and overcome prejudice. And it is a way to prevent harm being done to you. I understand Op fully, cause I made also experience that in the gamers world you find a lot of assholes, same as in real life and you better watch out with whom you play if you don´t want to end up as a stalked gamer. So his question for a peer group is fully legit. Thats just my 2 cents to this subject. |
