Hard crashing PC locks up
" This one also does not work. So don't try it. There are reports from people on the other thread that they have crashed despite using this method. GGG is silent... That's why, once again I ask anyone who encounters this problem to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam in a detailed and informative manner so that others will be made aware of the issue. I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do: 1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad. 2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review. 3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there. |

At this point I spend more time refreshing and reading replies than I do playing the game.

" Another sad day not playing PoE2 because no option to disable multithreading while zoning. Manually disabling multithreading every minute is the only way to keep the entire PC from freezing. I did it for weeks but it's driving me crazy. Please help us ggg overlords. No one knows how multithreading works, I get it. I'm a game dev too and would have no idea where to start. Just add the zoning option. Please baby jesus. |

" it helped me thanks, now I play without problems, I installed the same driver version 560.94 (try everything, maybe it will help someone) don’t be alarmed when you go into the game it will write that you have an outdated driver, just click ok and enjoy the game | |
While I understand that this is not a fix for the game and the developers are purely responsible for fixing this bug... If you really wanna play the game right now your best bet is linux, and I do understand some people are having the same problem on linux, but I had like 15 computer freezes before I stopped trying to play on windows 11 and their garbage update and I finally gave pop os a try and the game ran without problems for the whole day. Not saying this is a fix that will work for everyone but it will let you play otherwise.

Those who are working on this problem (if they exist) and those who are responsible for communication are not the same people.
At this point we need an official communication from GGG to understand what to do next. For example if they were to say "this problem will take us 2 months to fix", I could then simply uninstall the game and comeback 2 months later. Or if they were to say "We will allow refunds after February 1st" then we would be at ease for at least getting our money back. Or if they were to say "using X skill seems to trigger the crashes" we can avoid it, one less trigger mean one less crash. But we get nothing. Not a single information about anything. GGG should understand that this is not a F2P game anymore, they SOLD a product. I created a thread for this as well: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3707198/page/1#p25898464 But basically we-as paying customers- have the right to know: 1) What went wrong? 2) What you are doing to fix it? 3) What possible causes have you eliminated as the source of the problem? 4) What triggers have you discovered that starts the resource hog loop other than "zone change"? (This one is really important because it allows players to create workarounds) 5) What is your estimated time of fix? 6) How did this sort of bug managed to avoid detection in your testing period? 7) What you will be doing to compensate players that have been affected by this issue? 8) Whether refunds would be made available for those that are no longer interested in playing the game? As long as they are not doing this our only other option is to increase the pressure and warn others by giving a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam in a detailed and informative manner. I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.

Same problem, freezes during loading screen (I also have an X3D chip). This issue causes me to hard reboot my system using the power switch as the ONLY option. I can't play any more until this is fixed, I've had to do this too many times and decided not to put my system through the stress. I hate to have to do this but I cannot recommend the game until this is fixed because I am unable to play due to this issue. Really hoping this gets fixed asap. (I sent my dxdiag log already to GGG staff who asked for it)

Guys, idk what happened, but game is not hardcrashed 3 days already! And I didn't do anything about it. The only thing that seemed to be a small update of Windows 11 24H2, which was installed automatically, without my participation. I updated no drivers and did not use any 3rd party software at all.
Maybe just luck, but 3 days in a row... I don't believe. There are more Windows updates in the queue, but they require confirmation from my side. I'm afraid to touch them yet. Last edited by Redskyline#6658 on Jan 23, 2025, 2:14:55 PM

Having same issue. Win 11 24H2 fully updated system. I do NOT have a X3d CPU and it hard crashes all the time. Last night, it hard crashed and now my M2 Samsung V990 pro is not working. I am going to contact them to hold them liable for this. I can play 20 + games and never have seen these types of issues. Just crazy that it blew my SSD after the hard crash.

Nailed it. Can we please get a response to this. It would be nice to see something posted on your support page about this specific issue!
