POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

It's not an windows only Issue.

The update from today did not fix the problem. Still crashing on random loading screens. Sometimes I can load fine for two or three times. Then suddenly it happens again.
Although now the freeze first happens in slow-motion and then after 10 seconds it fully freezes my PC. |

The obvious bandaid fix on GGGs side is to disable multithreading on loading screens.
I'm no mind reader but I think they want to avoid that because it would slow the loading for everyone overall, including precious streamers and shills. PoE2: A good, giving game

HERE IS THE DEFINITIVE FIX FOR WINDOWS 11 24H2 users
I've had the same issue and there are 3 fixes 1) Turn off Engine Multithreading - works, however it's not great 2) Install POEUncrasher - May work on other PC configurations. Disables core 0 and 1 while loading new areas and re-enables. Video description below contains the link 3) Uninstall the Security update for KB5048667 - removes the conflict which is causing the processors to run up to 100% and freeze your computer. "definitive fix" telling people to uninstall a windows update that came out 4 days AFTER the launch and poe2 crashes started to occur... What about the 23h2 crashes, thw windows 10 crashes, the windows 7 crashes, the linux crashes, the xbox crashes and the identical poe1 crashes that started in april 2024. Another dumb dumb definitive "fix" lol

fwiw #1 and #2 do work, can also manually do affinity with task manager to contain the crash. But the 24h2 and #3 are just wrong and fake news. Just google that windows update.. December 10th 2024... when did poe2 come out? oh right |

OK, "0.1.0f Hotfix 1" fixes problems with freeze (for me) on

Yep even worse now after the "fix". Loaded into game.. wait no, not loaded. Loaded and stuck on the first loading screen, already disabled 2 cores so just crashed and restarted. Then actually loaded in slowly, tried to go to trial of Sekhimas, boom fucking crashed again. Unplayable unfortunately, I'm done for now GGG. I'm not bricking my PC for you.

So now I'm crashing with a full system freeze at the character select screen instead of playing russian roulette when changing zones.
