Really surprised they didn't do more to address this in the stream.

Hi guys, so i tried to revert the Windows update, and the game stopped crashing. Here is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xzxUNCt4D4 . The windows update that it is giving this problem is x64 (KB5048667), so you just got to rollback this update and the issue seems to stop. Since i have done this, i didn't get any freeze screen. The video may help you guys.

I was optimistic after seeing that this was successful for many, but uninstalling the security update didn't help me, unfortunately. I froze within two loading screens.

"No offense but this isn't fixing anything. Just because you didn't crash yet doesn't mean you found the issue. If you did, please enlighten me how to uninstall a Windows update on Linux. Thanks. |

I tried to "health care" my whole pc this weekend, i think i found a solution at least for me:
- I did update from Win10 22h2 To Win11 24h4 (no way to update to a prior version like 24H3, only a clean install can get that older version i think) - Updated my BIOS - It seems for some reason i didn't have XMP enabled on my BIOS.. This meaning my RAM modules was working on a speed below the stock speed.. I did enable a profile(auto) making my modules run at their stock speed now (3200mhz) - I did change slots for both ram modules - I updated my nvidia driver to the lastest Game Ready version (Ver 566.36) - Installed all the other updates like Microsoft redistributable, Net Framework etc.. After all that i was able to run the game for a few hours without a single crash. Without Poeuncrasher and with Multithreading enabled.. Pluss all the settings on a "quality" preset, without having to use Direcxt 11 or other stuff to cap the performance, it's running full and clean :') Not sure if anyone where in the same position as me, but that's something some of you can try.. Maybe it's not any of the above that fix, it may have nothing to do with the problem and it just worked as a placebo for me, i didn't treid too long to confirm if there's really no crash anymore, but i was able to play for some hours at least..(i wasn't even able to pass the login screen like many other players) So i thought would be helpful to give my feedback here. i'll keep testing tho Ryzen 5600X Geforce GTX1660 SUPER 16GB ram SSD nvme Samsumg 970 EVO PLUS Win11 24h4 Last edited by drx#8804 on Jan 13, 2025, 10:46:24 AM

A whole month without feedback from the developers, people are torturing their computers and rolling back Windows versions back and forth without even knowing exactly what is happening and what can help. That is the level of modern gamedev!
I made a refund btw, will play the free version because I don’t want to work as a QA paying for it. |

After being unable to play for almost a month, i've managed to fix it on my side. Basically i update my bios.
Description of bios update: "1. Updated with Intel microcode 0x12B to address elevated voltage requests during idle or light activity, further mitigating Vmin Shift instability issues. 2. The option to disable C1E in the BIOS has been removed to ensure it remains enabled, reducing processor stress and maintaining stability per Intel's recommendation. Updating this BIOS will simultaneously update the corresponding Intel ME to version 16.1.32.2473v3. Please note after you update this BIOS, the ME version remains the updated one even if you roll back to an older BIOS later. " And this fix my issue - 3 days playing - NO problems. Windows 11. 24H2. Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700K GeForce RTX4070 Super Motherboard - Asus PRIME H770-PLUS Hope this will help. |

" we did got a new/another response on this issue yesterday.. check Staff posts on this thread | |
" This post is about nothing, "we know about the problem and will try to solve it", yeah after 3700 messages in the thread. Thanks to the developers for taking the time to write two general phrases. |

I had an old Intel 9700K on launch of POE2, the game never crashed or froze.
Now i have upgraded to a 9800x3d, and my game freeze in almost every loading screen. I still have the same GPU and GPU driver. Nvidia 3080 After i found POE uncrasher, the game is somewhat playable again, and only crash once in a while. Hoping for a better and more permanent fix soon. |
