That's quite hard bug to fix. Chill. That's an early access.

What we know.

1. The hard freeze don't happen when disabling engine multi-threading when transitioning between maps. I have never had a crash when this is disabled. I only get it when I forget to turn it off or when the game starts up.

This setting exist in the game as we speek so there is actually 0 dev time for this.

2. The game knows when there is a loading screen. Even third party apps such as Poe-uncrasher can read the data and figure out when a loading screen is present. This also has 0 dev time.

Putting this togheter is a 10 minute fix at most for an experienced developer. I bet even I can do it without any experience in the gaming industry.

They will have to make a new checkbox in the settings menu though, that's another 10 minutes of dev time.

The funny thing is that the loading time don't seem to be effected by disabling engine multithreading either. I almost feel that it is faster a lot of the time. So the performance loss for most users would be 0 even if they made this the default behaviour.

1st day after the recent patch, I was able to play for 5hrs no crash/freeze, so I thought great! It's now fixed. But the next day, experience 3 crashes in less than 2hrs. I was like fck, not again. So yeah, cant do anything about it but wait for a fix. Sigh...
Don't worry boys, GGG is on the case. They've responded to a few posts... not this issue though.. at least they're looking into... uh let me look... mirror of kalandra dupes? For a league that isn't even standard and will be separate from everything else?

Well... there ya go. It's joever.
428 pages already... And still not fixed, ofc.

I played last time on december 7th. It was a 30-40 minutes session. That's it. That's all my experience in this early access.

An EA, sure, but it's meant to be playable, with bugs, but playable. This is not.

So 1 month and 13 days and they still don't even openly talk about this issue.

At this point I think I should just forget about this game, move on and let it go for good. 1 month and 2 weeks waiting for a fix of an issue that potentially can brick your computer is more than enough. I'm done.
I have a similar issue with the following specs:

"
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
GPU: AMD RX 7900 XTX
MoBo: MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK

My computer doesn't freeze, it fully powers off. I have to turn off the PSU and turn it back on to be able to boot my computer again.
The best part is that for Win11 users, the 24h2 update makes things far worse- even with PoE Uncrasher running. The only "approaching stable"* config for me is to be running 23h2 and PoE Uncrasher.

This becomes more hilarious now that MS have decided that the 24h2 update is no longer optional but mandatory. Windows Update is forcing it on users. Right now, the most you can do is refuse to do an explicit restart to apply it (shutting down by default on modern Windows is a sort of suspend in disguise due to the fast boot stuff, you have to choose "restart" to apply major updates).

I think people with machines that look clear to update to MS can put it off for a few more weeks by not restarting, but as Samuel L. might say, tick tock MF. If GGG don't get their act together, a big chunk of users will get even more screwed.

Personally, I've had to stop playing until they manage to sort this, so maybe I should just let the update install and stop fighting it. Ball's in your court, GGG. I know it's listed in "known issues", but it has been a massive game breaker for a while. Even for an early access game, this is a bad one.

* "Stable" inasmuch as it only causes a catastrophic lock-up occasionally. Just normal high-quality stuff.
Upgraded my PC during christmas and started getting this.

Hard crashing with all cores enabled, disabling 1-2 cores alleviates the problem but crashes to desktop still happen. Disabling 3 cores however seems to get rid of the problem, but I'd like a proper fix.

AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
RTX4070 TI
Windows 11 24H2

PS. Didn't have a single crash on my old setup which had Windows 10 & i5-9600K.
