POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

Nah, I signed for an incomplete game that is probably bug ridden and all, sure.
But I signed up to PLAY the game, not to have useless data on my SSD for over a month with no updates from the devs on how things are going, nor did I sign up for it to crash my OS and hard reset my machine.

For real, in all my gaming years I have never seen a game do this, early access or not, at most I've seen this happening due to faulty hardware or trying to play some graphics intensive game that my machine clearly couldn't run, not something that I've been running fine for days before it just decided to start crashing on loadings.

As hard as this bug might be to fix, the whole lack of communication over this long of a time is inexcusable, even more so when they decided to charge for this early access.

In the past this happened a few times, but fine in general. Today it was the worst. 4 crashes over a few hours during the loading screen, having to hard-reboot the PC each time. Makes the game unplayable

Wondering if it could be related to the lastest updates to Windows 11 (Installed 2025-01 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems today) and NVidia drivers (566.36)

They have communicated with us but I agree the lack of constant communication is annoying. You signed up for an early access which by its very definition is an incomplete game which may or may not contain software issues that affect your system, when those issues occur you report and stop playing, I've got games on my steam account that never left early access and had crazy bugs that never got fixed, its early access not a head start.

The thread keeps turning into idiotic conspiracy theories instead of fresh reports of the issue that are still popping for people that hadnt previously been affected, this is clearly an issue they havent figured out as of yet, does it make much of a difference if they come and say we are still trying to figure this out for you to then come back to this thread and respond angrily that they havent figured it out yet? They cant win no matter what they do so no wonder they remain silent and drip feed us instance crash fixes with each patch
perhaps ive been too harsh to diablo 4... i would refund poe 2 and never play again, a bad game is till better than a unplayable one... ive tried to play yesterday and got insta pc freeze on login, and ggg still thinks its only a portion of people thats having this issue, i bet theres more people who having this and doesnt post here just stop playing with anger.
i suggest people downvote on steam to make poe 2 mostly negative, until ggg fix this issue.

Sure, and what they communicated (we're aware of the error and trying to fix it) was fine for the first week or two, but it's been well over a month for me, around two for some people. A little more in-depth response is the very least that should have given since then, be it to warn people to stop playing when they meet this kind of error, talk about community workarounds or even talk about general progress on the fix so people don't waste their time checking this thread day after day only to learn nothing new.

is annoying.

An incomplete game? Sure. Bugged and crashing? Absolutely, but those issues should be contained in the game, and not spill out into my system. Those kind of errors should have been filtered during their internal alpha testing, not early access. I've done that, reported and stopped playing but it's been well over a month already with no updates, it's already past the point of calling it ridiculous.

If these issues somehow got through their internal testing unnoticed, or started happening during early access, GGG should take actions promptly to safeguard their users until that stuff is fixed. Fuck ups are expected, even big ones, but the way they're handling it is as unprofessional as it can be and gives me no confidence at all on the company. The fact that you had to compare this mess to scams that never got finished and ended up in an unplayable state in order for them to even be seen in a positive light, just proves how bad this is being handled.

Well, maybe if they talked about it, this thread wouldn't have turned into "idiotic conspiracy theories". And although I can't speak for everyone, I know that I would be way less worried about this bug and have way more respect for the company, if they posted something along the lines of:

"We're looking at it, but the problem is more complex than it seemed at first. It looks like it's related to x, y and z but right now we have idea when it's gonna be fixed.

Some workarounds that seem to work for some are X and Y, we don't recommend Z cause it can do more bad for your machine than good, even if it helps you run the game. If those workarounds don't work for you, we suggest you to stop playing it for a while as those hard resets aren't good for your machine.

We apologize for the inconvenience and as soon as this is fixed we will compesate those affected by giving out a 1.1x exp event for a week, or an item that makes your character look like it's frozen, or whatever nice and cheap thing we can think of as an apology."

This is happening to Linux users as well don't let them blame windows on their buggy code.
So, just read an article about the Nidia driver update. It updates RTX card series 20, 30, 40, and 50 with DLSS 4.

I'm assuming that can help with the visuals in the game?

Sorry, that's all I've got for you on that.
i updated to 24H2 last night, and now PoE 2 Crashes my computer everytime i try to play.

Cant do anything and have to hardreset whole system
I happen to have a W10 PC built that has everything besides a Graphics card. So out of curiosity I moved my gpu to that system and have played for 20 plus hours on that system and have had ZERO crashes.

It has half the ram, much slower storage solutions, a older and a bit slower CPU, etc. So there are downsides to using that system, but no matter how laggy it gets sometimes I haven't even had one game crash let alone a whole PC freeze.

Please fix this GGG. The current GPU market is making it hard to upgrade my GPU to what I want to and if this game could just be fixed I can hold off for a bit and wait for march when we get 9070XT launch and more details.

Either this gets fixed soon or I'll have to drop it and periodically look up if it's been fixed. Tired of whole PC freezes that I have to hold my power button down to get out of. Doubt that happening often is good for a PC.

I know there's a lot on the plate at the moment, but like some other people have said, this should be top priority. Major crashes and especially those nasty PC freezes are a no go.
