POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

Well I built myself a mostly new PC, upgraded my circa 2018 intel i7 CPU, MOBO, 16gb ram, and m.2 SSD to an AMD Ryzen 7 the appropriate mobo, 32 gb of ram, and a new m.2 SSD. I kept my Nvidia 3060 video card. Prior to the upgrade I ONLY had this issue when I accidently got the 24H2 upgrade and it stopped after I rolled back the update.
Well I can't roll back the windows install on this new build to something before 24H2 and now I get the freeze. Happened 3 times already this afternoon, just recently twice in a row - froze while re-entering a map, and then after reboot froze while trying to get to the login screen. I REALLY don't like force shutting down my mostly brand new PC. I've updated all my drivers after the freezes started and flashed my bios to the latest available version to no avail. Alright so, I finally fixed it for me. Apparently there's issues with Nvidia graphic card compatibility.
I found this video absolutely randomly explaining the whole process. Long story short, Nvidia allocates PoE2 to the PoE1 folder in your PC. Beside that, the cache allocated for the game is by default ~4GB (You need to change this to 100GB/Unlimited) These two should completefly fix random stutters, the Loading screen hardfreeze and other tiny annoyances. *The cache tip might also work for non-Nvidia Graphic cards.* Make sure you follow the exact steps of the video and it's going to improve your performance tremendously.(the video shows both PoE2 and PoE1 methods, so don't mix them up) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxK9j1GU-gw&list=LL&index=15 It worked for me after I had given up hope for a fix before 1.0, so I hope it works for you guys as well, have fun! |

I've been playing POE1 for the last few days with only one loading screen freeze. Tonight, I can't even get past the first loading screen in POE1. Trying to zone into Highgate, CPU goes to 100 and stays there.
@GGG I grabbed a memory dump while the game was frozen. I don't know if that would be useful. After executing the memory dump, I got kicked to the login screen - perhaps some kind of anti-cheat mechanism? If the dump file would be useful for debugging, send me a DM or email. |

I lost my PC after forcing shutdown many times, and decide to retire instead of building a new one. Guess you all should wait till bug have been solved.

I know when you load into PoE, you get that stupid "stream game to friends" overlay. so, I closed Discord. On the following login, rather than just freezing, I crashed to desktop. After trying again several more times, I'm able to load the game. I'm not going to say this is a solution for anyone, but closing Discord has enabled me to load into the game. If I open Discord back up, I get loading screen freezes again. |
