Continuous Stuttering/Lag Despite Stable FPS and Internet in PoE 2 Early Access

any amount of processing on the client's side would cause an FPS issue and stutter. This is a network issue, so nothing on the local computer will cause this other then a bad network card, bad rougher, internet connection issue, or something on GGG's end.

Sadly this topic is filled with issues that are CPU/gfx related instead of the original topic... stuttering/lag with NO fps drop.

The primary reason is a connection issue with the server as the client keeps on rendering/processing. It manifests in your character freezing in place while other things animate, followed by the client/server catching up with a massive elastic band effect as the missing time is filled in.

reducing bandwidth MIGHT help mitigate the issue a bit, but this will still spike. gateway changes/ ip address changes(VPN)/ or a refresh to cause an instance change (still updating the internal path on GGG's side) are the only workaround till a patch comes out.

In PoE 1, there was a setting to patch this issue if it showed up that is not in PoE 2. I would hope that GGG will fix this, but I will settle with a predictive settings change to fill in the holes in the connection

Exactly what this guy said , its not a graphical issue its literally the network stuttering as my fps never drops. And its literally the only game i have issues with. So IMO its definitely something on GGG's side of things. I wish they would make an announcement about this or something. Goes on to much longer, just that many more people that will move on.
Same issue. It's really sad to see the devs not responding to these posts even though many people are having problems.
I'm having the same problem. The game lags so badly, it's completely impossible to properly dodge in a boss fight. I roll, the game freezes, I'm suddenly on the other side of the arena with half of my health missing...

I've had about 4 hours out of 20 when I could play without issue, but there's nothing I can do on my end to fix this and it means I often can't play when I'd actually be free to do so. It's immensely frustrating.
Anyone with NVIDIA

I rolled my driver back to the 560.94 Version and everything is smooth now. I was getting horrendous stutter beforehand.

You get an outdated driver warning when you start, but ignore that

I will give it a try later on because my main problem are some weird game crashes and idk if this might also fix my issue.

Unsure how a nvidia driver would reflect network issues.
third complete desync accompanied with constant intermittent ping spikes reaching up to 5k ping, game became unplayable right after the new patch, i assume its due to the servers not being set up enough to handle the massive amount of players during early launch but still for me the game is unplayable and its impressive how this problem persisted from poe1 to poe2 lol
I finally figured it out. It has to do with the area (= instance) itself, so if I'm in an area with heavy lag, I use the Waypoint to create a new instance (STRG + left click).

I've tried this 6 times today and it worked every time for me! Even together with a friend (party of 2).

You may have to do this more than once.

Everything else WON'T fix the problem (you have to create a new instance!). It will always come back. This is not a permanent fix.

Things like installing a new gpu driver is "fixing" it the same way, as you need to quit your game, install the driver, maybe reboot the pc and restart the game, which will create a new instance anyway. Same with VPN etc.

i can confirm. this fixed the laggs for me. sadly the character is sometimes "sliding" over the area i clicked. but still way better to play.
i dont understand why this fixed it as the graph showed spikes in network latency
