Like every other difficult encounter, you can bypass or reduce the frequency of boss mechanics simply by having higher damage and a build that has damage amplification synergy.

This is the problem with the vision bullshit - there are artificial barriers that create the illusion of difficulty, but that all comes crashing down with gearing. And GGG does a fantastic job starving players of resources to gear up at the moment.

I think it took me about 5 tries with a little over leveling in between and a bit of teeth clenching and rage to beat her on normal act 3 as a lightning ranger, in act 6 I don't die at all now and she goes down pretty fast. Offensive gear is the biggest contributor, my resists are still poor and I still dance around like a monkey around regular mobs, but boss fights in this game is more about offense than defense. Every boss in this game that I've encountered so far is just a DPS check.

Exactly. I died to the Viper 5 times in normal (1/3 my total death count during the entire campaign) and killed her in less than 30 seconds in cruel because cruel Jamanra dropped a very good weapon for me and I knew what I was doing with my passive tree. So much for 'skill based combat'.

I don't like this fight. All the previous ones felt like there's something to learn. The general timing of the wolf jumping out from the fog, for example.

Here most of the moves are fine, but soldier attacks are just too big, too random, come from all sides, and require extremely quick reaction. And it's not even an end of act boss.

At least make us able to target the guards if it's not a duel.

You can dodge that attack you know

The soldiers light up before they throw. Move to an area of a soldier who hasn't lit up and you dodge the attack. And the last attack where everyone throws it goes in a wave go to the end and run towards the front and dodge roll

I've gotten through that attack without taking damage before many times.

Yeah, sure, it's not impossible. For me personally it crosses the line between "fun + challenging" and "unreasonable". That's the whole feedback.

Thanks for advice though.

This might just be me but I was upset when I got to the boss just because I was so tired of act 3 (the draining zone took too long). I was ready for a new act when I revealed the drowned city but was able to slog through that (gigantic) zone. I was hoping the time portal would bring me back to act 1 cruel, but no, it was that gigantic zone again :| At that point I was low on patience for learning more attack patterns, but was fine after I took a long break.
+1

IMO this is the worst designed boss I've ever played. Total trash. I beat her, but it was a horrible experience. Fromsoft bosses are hard, but always felt fair. POE2 is hard, but always feels cheap and unfair.
This is by far the most infuriating boss fight, mainly because of the sheer amount of effectively unavoidable damage unless you rocking lots of move speed, pay attention to specific shades of purple, and have perfectly timed dodge rolls.

The chaos damage is not helping it. Nor is the frustratingly small arena. Particularly in the last 25% where the AoE spam covers the whole arena perpetually.

This fight needs some tuning, or a lot of tuning, or banishment to Belgium.
