es doesn't function like health.
It doesn't come back with a potion. You can't get hit or it doesn't regenerate. You get more of it than health because it isn't as good |

They function the exact same. You dont lose all your armour and die, or all your evasion and die. Some builds dont even have one of these. And you certainly cant get even HALF of 10k ES in this game currently as life. You struggle in min/max to even get 4.5k So it needs to be nerfed hard. You get swarmed by things like Rathbringer's adds, and you die. ES isn't broken. What is are a couple of abilities that let you overcap ES significantly. And you can regen ES just fine in multiple ways, and in FASTER HIGHER MAGNITUDE ways based on your evasion rating. Which makes it even worse of a problem as well. Es function: Protect your character from dying by taking damage Life function: Protect your character from dying by taking damage These are their core functions. There is no debate for this. One is blue(teal) and one is red The fact that you can get one of these things to 10-20k and not the other, is the part that is unfair. Particularly because: a) It allows you to stand in mechanics you arent meant to stand in (pinnacle boss mechanic laugh and stand videos all of them being ES characters) b) There is nothing on its magnitude of defense i: Endurance charges do nothing ii: Armour (PDR is just phys) diminished against large hits iii: Fortification doesnt exist iv: Spell suppression doesnt exist v: even if there was something similar this is unintended POE2 gameplay c) Entirely Tree specific you have to be in the ES scaling section of the tree d) 0 life nodes are on the tree They are functionally the exact same thing just different colors. ES is notably stronger in PoE2 due the the slower combat and lower enemy density. It's a lot easier the get ES recharge delay reduction and pop back up to full faster than a potion can heal.
ES protects against all sources of damage besides the obvious. Armor doesn't help against Elemental and Evasion doesn't help against spells. Evasion is esp bad because there's a lot of attacks you just can't evade. Not 100% on why. I stacked up 81% Evasion and my Wind Ward drops often. EB + MoM + Recoup is note worthy as well since it combines all into the fasted regenerating pool that works against all sources of damage. Not quite the numbers of ES though. Yeah ES is stupid it's not even funny when i compare with my friends.
Those with it face tank and dgaf to an extent, the others play the roll dance game at every occasion. |

what about 8k hp armor builds?
75% phys damage reduction 8k hp turns into 32k. 80% phys damage reduction 8k hp turns into 40k. 90% phys damage reduction 8k hp turns into 80k. Add here 75% block and multiply those number 4x times. Also stunthreshold. Also %hp regen. |
