rate the endgame from 1 to 10
For early access a solid 8 - my only gripe revolves around limited skills/classes etc and that's because it's early. Graphics are good, game play is fun etc. I can't wait to see a full launch followed by more content being added (not just leagues over the top of the same acts, new areas and content)

ACTs - 6.5/10
ACT 1 is great, perfect length, nice intro to the game. ACT 2 is fine but starting to get a little convoluted (caravan here, caravan there. I get it, it fits the story), and almost overstays it's welcome. The dreadnought needs rework. Either widen every joining path between platforms or change mob-mob collision so you don't have 10+ mobs unable to cross to a platform and they all ranged attack at the same time (not great for melee). ACT 3 feels too long. Could do with cutting a couple of areas or making them smaller (you know what they are). If ACTs 4-6 are longer than ACT 3 in terms of 'yards walked' to complete each act, this will feel like a chore. Endgame - 3.5/10 I had a long spiel about how randomness in the map 'grid' in POE2 takes away all choice, ability to goal set and sense of tangible progression, compared to the way it works in POE1 and a short list of very simple ways to fix it but GGG will do what they want regardless and my ego can live without pasting it here :D |

At the current state of the game (Early Access) a 3 out of 10. POE1 was a 9, if not a 10 for me because of the variety of endgame content to choose from. You never had to play content you hated twice. I don't think POE2 will ever get there unless there are massive changes to the current endgame and of course a lot of additions.

endgame is 5/10
campaign is 8/10 overall design/balance is 4/10 atm poe 2 is one of the worst arpgs on the market "buff grenades"
- Buff Grenades (Buff-Grenades) |

Early Acess POE 2 in nutshell
*Story: 1/10 almost everything barely make any sense *Early Gameplay: 8/10 Great but felt unpolished, too few loot on act 1-2 *Endgame Gameplay: 6/10 felt like playing 2 different game, from carefully curate your skillset and gameplay, to mash 1 superior skill for the win. *Visual Effect: 5/10 This game is so friggin heavy during map rendering, also too much special effect |

If it wasn't for me being burnt out my score would probably a bit better. I'm not the one with most hours in-game but probably more than the majority (around 200 hours so far).
Campaign: 7 (but a 2 when it comes to replay value) Endgame: 5 Campaign is fun the first time, but when you level a 2nd a 3rd character it becomes a chore and way to linear, also when there are no side activities it's just boring. Could we have some dungeons or kind of mapping during leveling through the campaign? Combine this with poor loot drops, bad crafting and it makes you don't want to level a new character at all. When I first reached the endgame I loved the different biomes and layouts the maps had. The Atlas map was also looking kind of cool. I believe the combination of the classes I have leveled and the builds I set up myself made it an overall poor experience. First leveled a sorc with an ice build I set up myself which went pretty fine during campaign, but when reaching the endgame with one shots and very fast moving monsters it became trouble. My second char to reach the endgame was the Titan. It has gotten a bit better with him than the sorc, mainly because I found out to get better gear you have to trade. You find 1 divine if you are lucky and you use it to buy gear. I wasted a tons of exalts on crafting and can barely remember getting anything worth it's price. Again, the loot is boring in endgame, getting the affixes you need on gear feels like a lottery ticket never destined to happen. After doing maybe a 100 maps it's starting to get boring and that is fine. I played this game more than 90% of other games I have in my Steam library. But I guess this is it for now. New classes wont bring me back due to the boring campaign and endgame and the other issues with loot and one shot mechanics. |

" pretty much all of these issues would be fixed if ggg staff played some grim dawn and copied some of their ideas. there's a reason grim dawn is the arpg with the best reviews on steam but their minds are fixated on copying diablo 2 instead and creating a shitshow that's almost impossible to balance "buff grenades" - Buff Grenades (Buff-Grenades) Last edited by auspexa#1404 on Jan 12, 2025, 4:49:37 AM

endgame
content 4/10 because there isnt much out yet quality 3/10 there isnt much to it.... mapping 1/10 literally the worst mapping system...and some maps are just a complete waste of your waystone (towers, vaal factory, hideouts). not to mention some maps have such stupidly narrow areas. the map design makes no sense with the league mechanics they try to put in. there are times when the breach is literally in the corner of the map with no where to expand...or ritual is blocked by multiple trees and rocks. special bosses 1/10 you are not give an opportunity to learn how to fight them. one and done is BS....ppl keep comparing it to dark souls type of game style...but even dark souls doesnt screw you this badly....youre given an opportunity to learn and this mapping+special bosses do not give you any sort of opportunity to learn i spent hours and hours trying to find the stone citadel....i ended up with 5 iron and 5 copper....and 0 stone....then i bit the bullet and bought the fragment on exchange. got wiped because i couldnt figure out the literal split second timing for arbiters aoe attack...and thats it....so now i either have to fork up more money or spend a ton more time? why do i have to be forced to watch youtube videos just to learn the mechanics? why cant i have an opportunity to practice for myself? there is a major difference watching someone do it and being able to experience it yourself and try to play through it....poe2 does not allow you to learn from your mistakes anymore. mind you....i was doing consistent t15s with irradiated and corrupted. and spammed tablets whenever i could. this game just feels overly punishing just to be a total **** about it...this is not fun. this is not worth the time and effort. this is not worth $30 for early access. i tried to enjoy this game....i put in extra time...played "fun" builds...but it just all felt like a waste of time. its uninstalled now. In it's current state - I give it a 3. I see nothing systemically that is better than PoE 1. Aside from graphics, sprites, and other eye candy such as animations. I think PoE2 is a worse incarnation of everything PoE1 already offers.
