Speed is too heavily rewarded
" Yeah, I keep setting personal bests or going for the luckiest runs it's fun Is that not competing? If they introduced some way to reward you for being time-gated or for intentionally doing one piece of content longer would that not be tedious? " you should try breach or deli |

" You're calling breach and deli slow, sorry, what? That's the main content I run. It's not slow. My average map is 3min30sec. If we are saying adding harder content to the map is "timegating" or "rewarding people for being slow" then everything is doing that and why does this thread exist |

its not about rewarding ppl for being slow, but allowing them to be slow.
you are in every thread of this type and always appear confused while people explain this to you over and over, all while you yourself have absolutely no interest in having a slower char. in other thread you complained about ssf folk causing you trouble with your trade/economy thread on reddit- you are doing that very same thing here yk |

" Alright, so you are saying the mechanics are too fast. Fair enough. I dunno, I'm worried for the game right now. There is less monsters in lower tiers and open layouts, there's less ways to scale the content. I have no idea what progression will be like already. When you talk about "slowing down" the content, you talk about slowing down the progression too. This kind of happened in the start of 0.1, they buffed it because everyone complained until it was good, then it happened again in 0.2 and the league pretty much died after a week or two. People are not happy about feeling like they can't find anything, nobody wants to invest a bunch into rare precursors to lose currency, I'm talking about late game trade which apparently seems to be a rare occurrence in PoE2 feedback. It just feels bad to be slow, the game is full RNG already so going fast makes up for it. A bad player could spend an eternity to find an actually rare item in an ARPG. I don't know what to tell you man. It's not what most of us signed up for. |

as far as build diversity and speed is concerned -- I'm not sure I can play anything but a deadeye on a rhoa. The game is horrible without that combo.
I'm used to flasks in POE 1 and moving multiple magnitudes faster. The slow pace of POE 2 is god awful for me. It's not what I signed up for, it's not what we were ORIGINALLY promised, it's not engaging, it's not fun, and it just feels actually literally frustrating to move so. fucking. slow. I pushed a bloodmage to 92, and when I was about to get Momentum to ensure my movement speed was fast while casting i realized they even removed THAT from the game. We don't care for slow. We are not here for that. If they wanted such a radically different game, they shouldn't have called it Path of Exile 2 As a gamer, what I EXPECT is congruence between games. That means it's not about changes. It's about being the same goddamn game entirely. I do not pickup fallout and expect it to be a beach vollyball game. I do not log into an ARPG and expect to move slow. I find the slow pace of the game literally hostile to players. Last edited by Rakie1337#5746 on Oct 3, 2025, 8:34:38 AM

" Yes less monsters = slower leveling and less loot, this is a universal truth in POE 1, this does not change because we are in POE 2. Lots of people don't realize it. The damage nerfs in 0.2 were only really bad in the campaign, afterwards it was fine enough but it felt quite bad in the campaign. GGG tends to mix up tedium and challenge. They are not the same thing, but GGG thinks it is. |

game is completely unplayable unless u are using rhoa mount and tailwind.
maps still to big, move speed too slow, using a skill binds you to the floor... no real movement skills... people still complain about meaningful combat, go play soulslike games thx |

" POE 2 was meant to be as Soul-like as humanly possible. They failed spectacularly, but it WAS the goal leading up to release, and after they flew in streamers to try it. Otherwise, speed is the most important thing in the entire game -- why do you think they removed it? Most POE 1 players hate every utterance of "slow", we don't want slow movement, slow skills, slow attacks, slow animations, we don't want slow ANYTHING, we don't even like the fucking word used in a sentence by GGG, let alone be a thin in the actual game that SLOWS DOWN FUN. "Slow" is the absolute worst aspect of any ARPG. And GGG is literally in LUST with it. Look at frozen ground, grasping vines, etc etc etc etc etc. If anything is "slow" in any capacity, we hate the fuck out of it. We aren't here for "slow' anything. They had a year and delivered disappointment. Id rather them just turn POE 2 into POE 1 and I get a league every 2 months between POE 1/2. Currently the game is just... ugh. I have a pit in my stomach while playing POE 2. Most of it just is stupid and poorly designed, poorly implemented, and antithetical to what we even supported them for in the first place. " go watch the first poe2 trailer and tell me what they meant poe2 to be. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcd9BfVw7hQ& GGG must have forgotten that exilecon completely |
