in last 5 league, i played 3 of them. except the Game mechanic i had issue (drop, endgame), i had NO ISSUE WITH SOFTWARE PERFORMANCE.

This game is 12 years old now, and while they have certainly made upgrades to it, there's no excuse for performance like this.

I can run way "heavier" games on this pc with extremely fast loading times. It's wild that they allowed it to get to this state. POE1 should not have these crazy loading times.

Agree! I can run "Overwatch 2" 100-120+ fps, but somehow PoE1 doesn't want to work properly. DX11? Lags. Vulkan? Artifacts. DX 12? Destroys my SSD.

Overwatch 2 is made to run on potato PCs. Recommended specs are low-end i5 and i7, and GTX 1060/1650. Those are low budget tier components. Not remotely the same thing.

PoE supports up to 16 logical processors, aka. threads, and is very CPU heavy. A better CPU carries you much farther. It can actually fully utilize my 9800X3D. Even so, with the right build, it will still be bottlenecked by a 9800X3D in 4k. Ask me how I know.

Your PC is not only kind of ancient, it's also way below low budget tier. A GTX 1060 6GB, the current king of low budget tier on the used market, not accounting for the lack of driver support in the future, is twice as fast as your GPU. The ~€100 i5-12400F is almost 3x as fast as your current CPU. It's not hard to make a strong budget PC with second hand parts.

PoE is constantly evolving, and thus hardware requirements become more demanding. You can complain that your toaster PC isn't up to par and blame the game for it, or you can invest a little on the low end and get something more longer lasting. That is, assuming you can spare like $200 to spend on PC parts. As it stands, the GTX 10-series reached end of life support as of October 2025, but the 16-series, i.e. 1650/1660 Super, will continue to receive support. Windows 10 support will also cease with October 2026.

I'd say it's beyond time you upgraded your PC. You can't reasonably expect the devs to continue to develop for potato tier PCs. You can get a 1650 Super pretty cheap these days, though better alternatives exist, i.e. the Intel Arc series that is great value for money and fits right into your budget tier. Upgrading to Intel LGA 1700 socket and something like an i5-12400F should cost you around €100 in second hand parts (based on my local used market, but in the US parts are always cheaper). You can go Ryzen if you want to, but that CPU in particular is great value and Intel is less desired now, so prices have dropped. Plays well with PoE, too (I once owned one).

How about you educate yourself on the topic first. I've been building my own PCs since 2012, mainly around PoE, and I browse various tech forums on the daily.

Shader spikes is normal when the game loads assets. They go away over time and reset with every new patch or when you change GPU drivers, lol. This is why you run the "wait for preload" command if you can't handle the issue. Refer to the above.

Then how do you explain all the people with top-tier PCs still having the same problems? Its not anyone's PC. Its the game that has bricked shaders.

Optimization is important, also don't just assume anyone in the world can order any PC part they desire. Depending on where you live and your country's currency that can be extremely expensive or straight-up impossible. Some of us gotta use what we have had for years. I'm personally waiting for the Steam Machine since its better than my PC and if its affordable and shipped worldwide I'm just gonna try to get that lmao, because why spend 2000-3000 on building a custom PC when I can just buy a little box that's basically a good gaming PC for way cheaper. I only care about 1080p 60fps anyway, even if I had a bigger monitor I will never play in 4k or higher than 60 fps, because I don't need it.

Hopefully they focus on optimization next patch, since it seems like they actually did some for PoE 2's newest patch.

Makes no sense that PoE ran perfectly fine on all these different people's PC setups, and suddenly this patch its completely broken with infinite shader bar being full and long loading screens. That's just bad optimization.

Such as? I have a top tier PC myself and no issues after shaders have been recompiled. It's people running new content that hasn't been compiled yet, paired with the wrong settings, then take it as terrible performance at face value.

Just because you don't have these performance issues, doesn't mean everyone doesn't. You just got lucky that's all. There are many people with PCs using an RTX 3070 and good processors that have these same problems, there are comments on multiple threads.

And PC parts are way too expensive in some parts of the world, because of currency exchange rates. You also have to pay a PC shop to build it for you, install windows for you etc.

The players shouldn't have to be some kind of IT expert that can disassemble and build their own PC, the game should just run normally instead of shaders being literally broken.

And guess what, every other game I play runs perfectly. Even newer ones from 2019 onwards, games on Unity or Unreal Engine 4. I run all those on 60 fps, no shader bs happening because they don't use that. Yet PoE is randomly bricked this 1 patch? Yeah its the game. Its not VRAM, its not CPU.

And I'm on a gtx 1050ti with 4 GB of VRAM and i5-9400f and 16 GB of RAM. This game ran perfectly fine at 60 fps since Harvest league when I got this PC, it only lags in blight which I don't do anyway.

It still runs at 60 fps, but the loading times are annoying and the shaders take literal minutes to load in every map. When my shader cache is already 10 GB in the nvidia folder, and the game's own shader folder got to 700 mb in appdata. Shaders are broken. It should not be loading stuff as if its the first time I'm seeing it, in a map I am doing for the 100th time.

It ain't anyone's PC lol

You are just not interested in putting in any of the work required.

No, unless someone just gifts me a free PC I ain't interested. The game should be optimized, because shaders are clearly broken atm
vulkan doesnt work needs fixed
Are we back to have strong opinion over other people's PC when the same strong opinions arent giving actual solutions only "just upgrade your pc lol". Either give people with issues a pc or just zip it.

I dont think they will fix this until 3.28 (maybe) I already gave up any sort of wait for this issue to be fixed soon
"Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."

"The strange voice showed Aul a future where his legacy was forgotten, where new cultures broke themselves upon Aul's ruined world."

Take me back when poe was the actual focus.
I had massive problems this league - at one point game was hard crashed every time I was loading from map to hidoeut or from hideout to league monastery thingy. Shaders always loading, lag spikes and sh**. Reinstalled the game couple of days ago - turns out local game file was 100gigs or so big (needs to be 50something), now the game is running normally. Hope it stays that way.
