Is PoE2 even PoE?

Every thing changed, drastically.

The movement.
The combat.
The classes.
The items.
The skill gem system.
Charms?
...

So many things drastically changed.

It makes me feel.. not at home while playing PoE2. I'm not calling it bad or anything. It just makes me feel like it's a complete different thing from PoE.

And it makes me feel a little bit sad. Is PoE is that repulsive to Johnathan and the new dev team that they have to erase most things that is 'legacy' from PoE?

My point is, it feels like a new standalone game, sure. But it lacks the continuity and inheritance from PoE1 that I know.

Maybe it's just me, but it feels off to me. I love PoE so dearly, just to see PoE2 came out and it feels, looks, plays nothing like PoE.

Don't worry, poe 2 started as an opposite concept to poe 1 but it's slowly turning into it, I bet that by the time the release of poe 2 you can't barely distinguish both.
PoE2 is still Path of Exile. The story moves forward, taking place years after the events of PoE1. Familiar characters return, you’re still an exile in the same world, and the core identity and ground basics, the skill tree, classes, and fundamental systems are still recognizable and about the same from ground concept. Some systems changed, and yes, it might not always feel like home at first, but differences don’t make it any less PoE. The foundation is new, not the universe.

If GGG only wanted more campaign and updated graphics, they could’ve just added Acts 11–15 to PoE1. PoE2 exists because they wanted to overhaul PoE1 into a completely new game on a fresh foundation, while keeping everything that makes it recognizably PoE. A sequel evolves around fresh ideas, it doesn’t just copy-paste.

There is nothing fresh in PoE2. Same lipstick, slightly different pig.
With every patch we are going closer to PoE1. At the end with will end up with PoE1 with better graphic and game feel. I am looking forward for it.

Just ignore all the obvious differences and squint your eyes!
The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
PoE Deuce, or "Path of Dodge Roll," will never be PoE. It is, immutably, its own thing, simply due to that one mechanic. Apparently, having one of a diverse variety of movement skills on every build in PoE was unacceptable to the Devs, so they removed those skills and instead attached a mandatory, one-size-fits-all mechanic to every character. Fantastic solution. =9[.]9=

That's why I'm not playing it, not even when I'm done with the PoE 1 league. I go play Rust instead, or just something else.
