Just a question, I feel like I'm missing something. Did you take out Arctic Armor from the suggested gems area?

Whoops! Added it back in haha. Removed it when making other edits. That's the really nice part about EK is you can get so much early survivability and still kill things.

Where do you plan on going after that? You seem to be the only one so far that did not go to IR. Going more STR based like you did does lead itself to getting more bang for the buck out of iron will.

I did go to IR and US in that build. I plan to go to the ranger tree to get the extra shield nodes and hp (coming down from just under the shadow tree)

That's one thing the hybrid build doesn't take is US, which I'm not sure about. However it is only 6 nodes away so it's something that could be taken if needed, then specced out of later.

Ive a question, is wand+shield or staff better for ek build. Lets say youve staff with +1 to level gems, then you can use empower as support gem for it. So you get +3 levels to EK at max lvl, that would be huge dps inrease wouldnt it?

if u go to the ranger tree to Ballistic mastery which is highly recommended cause its the best EK node in the whole tree, then i will definetly go heart of the oak

just 2 points and its insane if u dont have Unwavering

That's a very good point.

The fundamental flaw of my quick hybrid build last week is the lack of Armor, Evasion, Shield, or stun recovery nodes. I have been theorycrafting ideas to get some better defensive buffs, but it's hard to figure out what to sacrifice.

There are tons of options close by though when it comes to adding defense and min/maxing the character: the evasion wheel next to scion gives you +50% evasion for 3 nodes, heart of oak, Leather & Steel will give you +32% ar/ev for 4 nodes with the MS boost, Shield and armor nodes in the templar area, etc.

I'm making my way down to IR right now. I'll probably grab it and then the +32% life 4 nodes away. After that I'll probably do the +50% EV for 3 nodes to help out with leveling and respec later.
