What We're Working On

One Improvement please:

For any beasts we have not captured yet, you know, the beasts that appear with the word "New" in Lime color, in their mouse over/hover text....

This hint doesn't appear until/unless you hover the mouse over the target. This game is too fast paced for this mechanic to be of any practical use. Even when proactively trying to get the mouse cursor over a mob of enemies to check for the word "New", most, if not all of the mob is dead before the mouse can hover-inspect anything. And even if I do manage to get a glimpse of the word "New" while doing this, it's too late. The mob is dead.

Anyhow to the point, Beasts that are "New", never been captured, please... mark them with a Beast Head the mini map, so that we know ahead of time that there is new Beast to capture.

This shouldn't be hard to implement. One, you are already attempting to show us this information via the word "New" in the mouse over/hover text. So, the beasts are already marked. Two, you are already marking enemies in the mini map with Yellow and Red beast heads. And even a Green beast head when the net fails and the target dies without capture. So, the mini map / beast head tech already exists too.

So please, mark "New" beasts on the mini map with Pink or Light Blue or whatever color you choose Beast Heads... so we don't run the beasts over without even knowing they were there; or worse, run the beasts over and see the word "New" a microsecond before they fall over dead.
Glad to hear you guys are already hard at work on 3.3.

I'm enjoying this league, but putting full manpower in to it at this point is obviously not the best choice, since the people that were going to rage quit the league, already did.

Here's to hoping the 3.3 is all about mapping, and improvements to mapping. I'd LOVE more incentive to just randomly run maps (such as putting league mods on random maps, or add leagues to the current shaper/elder fight system).

It's clear that the game is now all mapping. It has been all mapping for a while, but the powercreep has made everything before mapping trivial.

I don't mind "new player" leagues, but please, this is the perfect time to work on retention (maps).
I used to put my characters down here.

The list became so long, and I've had to DELETE over 50 characters to make room for others, that I've stopped updating it.

#firstworldproblems give me character slots free or WAY cheaper GGG ;(
Even tho I log in about every day and "try" to play this league, its at that point,

Does not matter how much sugar you put on crap, its still crap.
Please dont listen to crybabies, league is already awesome!!

Hopefully you guys address the drop rate of Harbinger Orb fragments. The league mod may as well be deleted if you guys are so scared of its power level than let it exist as it does now. People shouldn't have to jump through such high hurdles to even just access content that exists in the game.

They removed the Breach mod from Zana, and then adjusted the rates of her to give more EXP.

They are simply teasing / playing with our hearts. It's getting quite pathetic tbh, don't expect much anymore.

They are in their own little world right now. Chris posting announcements (literally citing reddit as sources). And he barely participates on this forum anymore. A huge slap in the face I feel

Well, Chris himself has said that they want this to be a game they want to play, and sometimes I feel like all the fun, spammy stuff got away from their "vision", and this scarcity meta is what they actually want the game to be like. I haven't been playing for long, and I already quit halfway through Abyss, more because of ascendancy balance than the league itself, and I'm not nearly attached enough to the game to care if they don't fix things and not just leave permanently instead of stick it out.

People just need to vote with their wallets and not buy supporter packs or MTX until they fix this scarcity gating nonsense.

The crybabies? Oh you mean the other 99% of the game's population on the forums and reddit who want thier currency ans map drops back and a playable league? Ya man, those crybabies, how entitled expecting a functioning product a fkng month into a 3 month league, man.

WAKE UP, omfg you delusional fanbois, WAKE UP! The league is GARBAGE, absoulte trash and they have no idea how to fix it.

The nets have 100% corrupted all the loot tables, they bled into the currency and map pools, it takes 5 minutes of playing on Standard to see how painfully broken the drops are.

I get that some of you are fanbois, you are the people that race to spam 1 line "hype" posts every 24 hours when GGG vomits up more MTX, or lately every 12 hours......but seriously, at this point I dont get how even the white knights can defend this mess.

We are keeping a close eye on other feedback, especially about the drop rates of things like Maps and Shaper Memory Fragments (which gate the absolute pinnacle content of Path of Exile and are not meant to be easy to find).

WWHAT?!? what am i supposed to do If I cant run maps ?!? This game's entire endgame content is maps...without reasonable map drops there really no reason to play the game...

stop tuning your game around twitch streamers....

Right there. You just admitted here that the vast majority of players (many who buy supporter packs) will not get to see end game content. What game does this and retain players?

News flash, when you lose at the casino too often, you leave. Smart people don't come back.

The problem is that there's two gambling flaws that actually keep players here:

The sunk cost fallacy
The gamblers fallacy

People who've paid into this game, via MTX, feel obligated to keep faith with / keep playing the game, because otherwise they would feel like they just wasted their money on the game ( easier to say for one off purchases, which you could just refund ). This leads people to otherwise ignore or forgive shoddy practices / decisions / designs, because they don't want to believe the value of their investment / purchase has diminished; or that they were mistaken in putting their faith into said company / product.

People also often believe that their luck / outcome will change soon, or inevitably. This leads players to often forgive ( same as above ) based on a notion they've convinced themselves of that things will right themselves out, or become fundamentally better given time and allowances. This gets exacerbated from the first mentality ( sunk cost ). Some people who are given numerous indications or examples of things not turning out like they want, will still cling onto hope / misguided belief that they will be vindicated soon.

It's really hard to ween these players off of these concessions, which GGG depends on; both monetarily and socially. It's the primary reason why companies have switched over to digital goods and in game store purchases, to create a connection with players akin to 'battered wife syndrome'. A lot of players "have" to forgive the company, because they're mentally distraught / conditioned to believe they "cant" leave, or otherwise expect a better outcome.

And to another point, it takes a certain type of person to accept that you've been taken for granted, which the great majority of people are not willing to accept or acknowledge. Nobody really wants to be put in that situation, especially realizing they did it willingly and/or for a very mundane / silly reason. It's the primary reason why theft / assault crimes go unreported, especially by elderly citizens. Facing the embarrassment they feel is worse than just letting it go and pretending it didn't happen.
Can't wait :)
