Maven memory game feels stupid

The whole fight feels like running the 'Skipping Stones' game from Takeshi's Castle while simultaneously doing complicated math in your head , fighting off hordes of bees and going for a heavy bag punshing workout all while flashy shiny disco lights blaze you.

People still complain about Sirus but this Maven fight is a mess.
It's unintuitive, stressful and overly crammed with stuff thats way to vicious. Having a mechanical fight is fine but this is the perfect example of too much. Nothing really looks apart and reentering the arena after death is a 50/50 gamble of life and death because it spawns you right back into some charging insta death mechanic which this fight has way too many of.

Finally got to the Maven fight, & was doing well until the 2nd memory game.

Who thought this is a good idea? The designer of the fight play too much super Mario or something. Feel so awful. Made to the last phase then ran out of portals...Only 2.5ex or days of grind for a refight.
While I do agree that the memory game is kind of stupid, I do feel like it ties in somewhat well on how Maven is perceived and explained to us.

(Though I don't like the fact that that stupid NPC is on a loop in his story as you find him in maps, to a point that I have to interrupt him mid-way. Yes, you know who you are!)

Jokes aside, while it vastly feels like it disrupts the flow of the fight, at least thematically it fits the Maven. She's an oversized, celestial, kid. It likes to collect bosses like playthings, and pit them against us. What is a fight to the death for us, is mere entertainment for her. Naturally she would be fond of a "game" that is so utterly stupid and redundant, and only serves as a means to toy with us, the player.

Do I like the part in that fight? Heck no. God it's awful, but hey, I get why it's in. And in terms of minigames, I gotta say, this is one of the least annoying one's out there, albeit all the more deadly.

(In case someone got curious about the fact that there are other "Minigames" out there: Pit of the Chimera hiding in smoke clouds is a stupidified (Is that a real word?) version of "Catch me if you can" - Baran's whole arena is one, dumb minigame of the floor is lava - Or the entire circus that is labyrinth.)

Edit: I WOULD like a bit less time sensitive though. Like, it feels especially in the last one you just don't have enough time for it before the damage catches up to you. So a bit more time would be appreciated. I get it's supposed to be all hectic and stuff, but that one's a bit, TOO hectic?

I'm simply bad in remembering shit like that. Three puzzles? Fine. Six? No way. Six + tons of shit flying around? Come one! What's that supposed to be? Damn Mario Bros or ARPG game?

I want to gear up my character properly in order to survive and basically annihilate everything around me BECAUSE I'm geared up properly and not to die from stupid mechanics. Manual dodges, like during Sirus fight, fine! That's OK, but this memory game is pretty much anti-mechanics. It's utterly anti-arpg. I'm not gonna do this fight anymore. Period. And that means no more money from me.

Yes, I could even note down stuff somewhere, I don't know - maybe in the chat or in the notepad and put this somewhere on the second screen, but this is just fighting bullshit.
May God have mercy upon my enemies; they will need it.

"Epic Screen Clutter Diarrhea" About sums it up for me after reading all these comments. Guess I'll have to pay a pro that likes doing this memory crap to complete the fight for me, at least until they remove that crap from the fight.
Actually now I've gotten used to doing it by writing down the sequence in the chat window like someone in this thread suggested. Its a nice way around for people who can't memorize shit (like myself). However, this is hard to do during the last phase and the best option there is to burst her down as fast as possible.

They should really improve the visual clarity on the highlighted tiles, it's very hard to see with the rotating beams and other ground effects.

Maven has around 50 million hp and 50% all res, except chaos.

https://poedb.tw/us/Absence_of_Mercy_and_Empathy

So unless you either instaphase her with 30-50 mill DPS or have less dps but stack fortify beyond 300% the portal loss could be anything from 1-6 depending if people either skip memory game by panic logout or die to it.

Looks like the devs are slowly shifting the new boss encounters towards known MMO boss mechanics with lots of ground effects to make them more engaging & to entice playerbase to do more group play (mostly boss service).
Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks
Maven fight is fine to me except the "Simon Says" like memory game. Although, it kinda goes with the Maven's character getting you to play her evil game, the mechanic itself is not thoughtful and engaging at all. I'm not complaining about dying if you fail to step correctly, but that part(s) of the fight itself is just not fun to do and doesn't feel right.
Just wanted to add that I really like the Maven fight, minus the memory game. I have memory deficiencies and so it feels pretty bad to be punished for something that isn't about my skills as a player. I really want the hideout :(

I would suggest replacing it with something like we see in Caterina's arena-- but make it a temporary. Or even just make the pizza wedge of the last triangle blow. Anything but pure death please!! :)

EDIT: I did get it on the second try, but only because Maven's game just went back and forth a bunch. Please reconsider this mechanic :)

Most adults can store between 5 and 9 items in their short-term memory. This idea was put forward by Miller (1956) and he called it the magic number 7. He though that short term memory could hold 7 (plus or minus 2 items) because it only had a certain number of “slots” in which items could be stored. (https://www.simplypsychology.org/short-term-memory.html)

Last phase Maven memory game sequence is 7 if i am not wrong. So can't blame GGG for that one.

I personally comfortably remember 4 elements, but that's on me.
