Maven memory game feels stupid
The worst boss mechanic in a while, and saying that whith still bugged sirius is something.

Also, another thing to mention is how random the memory game is. I've seen videos of people getting all the tiles next to each other in the last phase which makes it much much easier.
Anyway, I've stopped caring about the maven completely except that first time kill to get the atlas points. Her drops are mostly garbage except maven's orb which is like 1/5 chance, not really worth considering the cost of running. |

This mechanic is barely visible. GGG needs to put clear, strong telegraphs and cut spell visual spam effects 90%. Also bringing 20 minions make things much harder ( too see ).

Wouldn't be so bad if she was limited to doing this no more than 2-3 times, or if it could actually be survivable with high enough damage reduction+health pool. Personally, I would prefer the mem game going on with the rest of the mechanics but with survivable damage on failure.

Just chiming in to say The Maven is one of my favorite boss encounters. When you get to know the mechanics it goes so smoothly. And I feel like they are fairly well telegraphed.
The memory game should be more visible. It would be nice if they did something like the blue energy effect from the other maven invitations that show you when a boss spawns and which direction they are in. Something off the ground and away from potential clutter. If you're having trouble remembering the sequence, you can try labeling the floor sections 1/2/3 for left/top/right. And blocking them together for example 121 | 231. Or remembering the starting square and paying attention to moving Left/Right or counter-clockwise/clockwise. Eg. TOP first, LRL LLR Worst case scenario, logout macro and skip the game during the final phase. Only costs a portal. Getting hit by coil beams while reading the memory game isn't a big deal. The debuff falls of fairly quick if you avoid them while actually entering the sequence. I usually just match speed between two beams so I can focus on the order. I also recommend dropping degen as close to center as you can get it. So you don't have to dodge pools while entering the last parts of the sequence. |

I think memeory game is right direction but not far enough, I think GGG should go further, making players solve a differial equation follow by derived the Fourier series.

" That would at least be skill-based rather than gear-based ;). Personally, I like skill-based mechanics over gear-based ones. So to be honest, I have no problem with the Maven memory game. I did fail my first Maven, but not because of the memory game... Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

Yeah its interesting. We have all this block and dodge to actually survive stuff in the game, and really it's the only defense, aside from massive regen, which not everyone has because they don't have 20k ES.
So what do the Devs do? Fill the whole arena with degen. Why? Can't use the block or dodge mechanic. They know if it was just the fight with attacks or spells a lot more people would survive, so they add degen because the player has no defense. In my opinion, degen should be used like icing on the cake, but no... it's pretty much the whole arena/fight. Which is a cheap and totally uncreative mechanic. Which is also a reason why we have one shots. It's cheap and easy to deal massive amounts of damage. Chris wants players dead in the game, but he has no other creative way to do it. " you can type it out in local chat right? just open up ur chat box and type the sequence into local chat as it plays out, hit enter as its about to start and then follow it. 11232 I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
