Gifted key by friend, but can't log-in on Steam as I'm told I have no access.
" Yup... they should have not allowed shared keys if this was going to be an issue. It's absolutely bonkers that it's almost 24 hours after launch and they still haven't said a single thing about this. |

same problem for me :(

Yep friend gifted me a key as well for Epic, although I played PoE1 on steam, I didn't think this would be a big issue, linked the epic games account to PoE account on the website, same error.
Is it an issue with the gifted keys? My friend can log in just fine. |

" Yep genuinely, it sucks. And worse yet there's no updates about it |

If someone gifted you the Steam key or Epic Key, that will do you absolutely no good. Those codes are only to allow the game to be downloaded through those services, it does not grant early access. The friend should have used that key themselves. If they supported the game at a high enough level, they would have received a +1 early access key, and that is what they should have shared with you. Once you redeemed that key and your GGG account was marked for access, you would have the links to make your own connections to Steam and/or Epic. This in itself is not a GGG issue per se, although I will readily grant that they should have explained it better.
That being said, there is still an outstanding issue. I gifted a +1 key to a friend. He was able to redeem it, and the GGG site said he has access. He got the Steam link, redeemed it, and it seemed to install fine, but when he tries to log in, the game launches but it will not let him log in. Still looking for an answer to that one, as are many in this thread who did follow the correct process, at least as far as we can tell. |

I purchased a key from the website, got 300 tokens and account says im allowed to play.
Redeemed key on steam and downloaded the game i don't understand this on the exile webpage for my account "This key can be redeemed on the Steam store. Please note, this key only unlocks the client in your library, it will not provide early access to your account and should not be given away." If it does not allow access, then what am I supposed to do? I don't get it |

Likewise, husband gave me a key, my account states "Your account will be allowed to log in and play during Path of Exile 2 early Access". Try to login and get the "Your account does not have access to Path of Exile 2 Early Access. Redeem an Early Access key on our website or purchase access now.". Bummer.

" So basically it was explained EXTREMELY poorly by GGG? My friend bought a supporter pack on Steam. And then when he received a key for "lifetime support" - he gave it to me, like they stated you could do. They should have made it more clear that you needed to buy your supporter pack FROM the website if you wanted to gift your "lifetime support" key. That's pretty terrible business to the people who spent $1000s. Oh well, it is what it is. Guess I'll buy a supporter pack myself... although now I'm worried about doing that because who knows if it'll work even then with all the other issues. " If you purchased a key, then your account should have access, and it sounds like the page is indeed telling you that you are allowed to play. That purchase is what is supposed to allow you access, not the Steam key you are given afterwards. That Steam key is only used to link the account to Steam for this game, and to automate the process of being able to install the game through Steam and adding the game to your Steam library. That is not connected to whether or not you are granted early access to PoE2. It isn't the worst setup imaginable, but it could have been explained *much* more effectively. Based on what you are saying, I don't think this is on you, and you are certainly not alone. I think the best bet is to keep this thread active until GGG acknowledges the issue and puts a fix into place, hopefully soon. |
