POE1 doesn't have this problem though. They've already solved it, but probably quickly added in a broken system to release the early access.


Yeah. I think it's because 1. Early Access players are the more committed, no-lifers who will suffer this. 2. Most importantly, I think it's so they can force players to fill the gap until release.

If you kind of need to keep players entertained and have no plans for more content for a minimum of 6+ months, then just make the current content harder to access.
Yeah, I agree with OP—I'm done with mapping for now. Running low-level maps or spending an absurd amount of gold feels completely unrewarding. There's nothing left for me to do. I’m not gaining experience—in fact, I’m losing it overall. If I die while grinding for a map stone, it’s all for nothing. For example, I just got frozen by something off-screen and died before I could react, costing me 8% experience. That 8% took ages to grind through low-level maps, and all I got in return were two measly low-tier map stones.

I get that content needs to be spread out, but why design it this way? It’s just unbearable to play.
Agree, I can't finish the quest to finish 12lvl maps because I have only 10lvl maps now. I think it's a way to force players to waste their time on low lvl maps to keep PoE2 online on higher level...

Yes, Early Access, but personally, was mediocre at best for me overall. I'm not so keen on maps...especially once I see more of the community talk about it as well (YouTube, etc)...the feedback is more negative and has a long way to go, so that made it even less interesting/appealing. Kinda funny, as I kinda believed the hype from all the videos before release, so many were like "the next thing, Diablo II successor, etc" and I kinda bought into the hype too in a way. Now, I'm on my 3rd class/character and we'll see how that goes (and last most likely [I really doubt real change will happen unfortunately]). But not interesting in trying others out as they're not really for me, and I've already explored quite a few of the gems/skills anyway across classes (trying hybrid tank w/ Merc...was alright at 1st, but then fell off fast in mid 20s level lol). Actually kinda looking forward to this 3rd char as I'll have minions to do the tanking for me instead now haha (Witch). Overall though, again, personally, still lots of room for improvement - balance changes galore (not saying balance is easy) - and honestly expected Early Access to be a bit better but I also understand nowadays...it's getting tougher w/ budget/economy/game dev costs/etc etc etc. Not going to get my hopes up as it's too much outstanding to do lol. Like others in the community have said, the "identity crisis" is a place to start and own - as I still that's important of course...perhaps GGG wants it to be a hybrid (campaign, PoE1 maps, or a mix) - and well not sure how well that'll go lol. I really do hope the player base will remain/grow from solid replayability/longevity, but again, personally, I'm not seeing it. I also feel that many folks have already expressed the woes from PoE1 and that they're still here in PoE2 essentially (like ranged > melee) - that's just unfortunate to hear (and believe now that I've tried it myself and confirmed via various sources, pros, etc) -- again, I'm not saying game-balance is easy, but at least make an effort from the past...seems like not much has changed from PoE1 in that aspect and that's too bad.

Yup they do it for the 'Stats' and other incentives. Hey guys look at how long people are playing if we do this. We also saw that the longer people play after 2 hours, there is a 80% probability they buy a cosmetic!
I did beat all content by now, and I NEVER experienced a lack of waystones. Do breach/bosses on high %inc waystones and you will NEVER run out of returns or tier ups

are you playing solo or with friends?

talk to some random people in town and convince one of them to be you friend, then once you have this friend lure them into a map with some food and then while they're eating the food quickly clear the map.

A lot of people expect to play this way but if anyone is nervious about trying group play i have a tried and true method to make the loot less stressful.

Everything below a divine/things worth around a divine+ you split with your party and everything below that is fair game on (temp loot) with one caviat that the map owner may want some currency for juicing though in the current game stage that's less of a thing.

Since its worth so much its easy to split and everyone makes some progress, its tried and tested for years and has saved this game for me in regards to MP.

I didn't have a problem solo though, I am way oversustaining on waystones and did beat all content other than expedition boss t4, which I cannot be assed to do since his spawn rate seems abyssmal and expeditions are the most boring content.
