rate the endgame from 1 to 10

6/10

really like the core feel of gameplay and the WASD movement

but basically there is no crafting in the game, its just a slot machine

in fact the worst crafting i have ever seen in any ARPG ever

really ruins my SSF experience

and you cant play trade because its all pay2win and bots
9/10
The more time I spend endgame (430+ hours playtime) the more endgame seems clearer and clearer in what they intended it be.

I run it so much smoother, finding citadels as become second nature (just go in one direction till you see one)

And the league mechanics are greater.

One thing I hate though, absolutely despise after all my hours into PoE2 is the fog of war on the atlas and and the goddamn fuckin' pathing on the atlas..

I find a citadel but going from the sand to grass biome it just ends... the maps are next to each other.. but for whatever fucking reason it doesn't connect and now I gotta figure out how to get around... But there's fog of war so now it's gonna be 1+ hours to get around.

CHANGE THAT SHIT GGG it sucks.

3/10 theres a lot to polish

after leveling a different characters i got to maps with my chronomancer and it didnt take too long till i got pissed. if you dont have a meta character its a slog, really hard to level up because some mobs deal way too much damage (the little spiky shooters and poison snakes for example) and all your xp progress is gone. its not only the damage but 90% of deaths are if i have to fight from top to bottom, thats what i hated in d4, if you get hit from something that you cant see coming.

i think im gonna level a new char because the campaign was top notch imo and wait for improvements for maps and the trials.
Whatever my rating of endgame was in this thread before slash a few points off it. It's way too tedious and built to be Addictive rather than Fun. Unless you have a truly broken build right now the power fantasy feels like stale soda, totally flat, I rarely feel like I made my character strong enough to do anything fun and this is after I managed to optimize it like crazy on three different characters.

6?

I think its better than PoE 1's initial end game launch by far, the bones are there.

But........I need more variety, the loop is fine, but im sick of my auto atlas generation putting 4 augury's / vaal factories / decays together in string after string after string.

I want more variation, I want citadels easier to find (FYI I've currently cleared 5 of them) I can't wait to see more and more different maps and mechanics added over the life span.

I really hope it continues to get fleshed out and the generation gets A LOT better for variety.
3/10. Atlas skill trees exist and there are some endgame bosses that are pretty cool.

In everything else it is currently inferior to Last Epoch which says a lot.

More than half of the maps are a complete pain to run. Just uninspired procedural generation of nooks and crannies, empty and backtracky. Hidden requirement of at least 100% mf so that the game feels like a game again. The Atlas has no scaling for the further in you go, it just keeps throwing Augury, Mire and Seepage at you. The Atlas has no basic QoL navigation features that even Delve had.

The Endgame gameplay is just as oneshotty and random as PoE 1 but with less tools for the player to avoid death (no aurabots, no movement skills, flasks are useless).

I am again not picking up rares from the ground because the tiered rares are too rare for how bad they still are.

Since there was the question of which arpg I have played that had the best endgame I say PoE 1. It is hard to believe that both games have been made by the same studio currently.

PoE 2 was a fantastic game until endgame where it deteriorates into a worse version of PoE 1.

2/10. When I play solo it's a bit higher but I mainly played with a friend.

After the last patch we started getting instance/server lag, nothing to do with our PC performance or network/internet. The game doesn't like masses of projectiles (minion arsonist with extra proj and flame wall), especially when in a group with someone else. You'll constantly randomly get something that feels like stuttering, but you'll get periods of slow motion followed by sudden high speed that is uncontrollable and can easily get you killed.

The end game is pretty much a copy/paste of PoE1 which if I wanted that I'd go play PoE1. I'm hoping they massively rework it so the end game feels like PoE2 (acts 1-3).

List of some bad stuff at end game for me:
- Instance lag
- On death effects (feels bad mechanic)
- Ground effects (annoyance)
- Visibility (can't see ground effects under half a screen of fire)
- Random one shots that are often invisible or hard to see or hidden behind something
- Tight spaces in maps, super bad for Ritual and minions because the AI sucks
- Ascendancy for 3 and 4 suck. Sanctum is bad, I hate it, it's the opposite of what acts 1-3 are. Ultimatum is massively overtuned, bosses are too strong, the debufs are insane.
- XP loss and one portal when dying sucks, and is 10x worse when playing with a friend who has to wait for you to finish the map if they die. ITS NOT FUN.

I really hope GGG comes back and says they have a new end game they were preparing and the current one was a place holder copied from PoE1.
1/10

PoE1 endgame wasn't broken, why try to fix it?

This is boring and there is significantly less player agency than expected. 1 death per map is garbage. Atlas tree(s) is garbage.

I hate it and I hope everything about it changes.

I would rate it 4/10

Ascension system is just plain horrible and would put the game at a 0 for me if it wasn´t for the fun boss fights (except for some bugs).

Graphics are nice, even if they could improve or highlight some stuff better when it blends in with the background and you should avoid it. The skills are kind of fun even if I have not played a warrior/slammer yet and that actually looks awful.

Mapping is fun from T1 to T17, it feels good and the game is also surprisingly well balanced for SSF and HC, still not counting some bugged oneshots or the trials that again would bring the game to a 0.

Gearing is fun and even though I enjoy a new crafting system I think this could be improved somewhat.

More endgame content, reworked ascension system and better class/skill balance would put the game up to a 9-10/10 for me.

Actually changing this to 3/10 after playing melee now as well and that is because I am hoping GGG fixes some things within the next week or two. Those fixes should include defense balancing (not just nerfing ES to the ground), bugged oneshot bosses, melee skill targetting, mana scaling on melee skills and not as urgent but would be nice if minion pathing actually started working without them body blocking eachother all the time.

The manacost scaling of melee skills at higher level in combination with ES being the only defense in the game is just insane and the endgame experience as melee is 1/10 for sure.

2/10
Atlas is awful, takes away every single freedom we have in poe1.
Expedition, ritual, strongboxes and essences feel like a waste of time.
Breach feels good.
1 portal is a dealbreaker
Crafting non existence
No loot, no dopamine
