" True, the majority don't go to the forum to provide feedback. Instead, they just quit the game. |

" "Just bear with it" How about no, there are other games I can spend my time with and consequentially spend money on. Also, that is another game. It has no bearing on this one, if you want PoE1 then you can play it right now. Making this game the same when it is meant to appeal to a larger audience, not the same 10k people, is the entire point. Make the game better and have a meaningful highlevel progression rather than not knowing what to do post level 80. |

" Pretty much, a friend of mine made a really strong monk build and once he reached level 90 he simply said "welp grinding maps is boring now, cya gonna play my gachas" He hasn't logged in once, also won't return. |

" I left a positive review, twice , & still I believe the game needs way more balancing lol On a side note, can y'all stop arguing here? We get your stance, it's been duely noted. Let's all move on. Happy NYE! |

So....what is the reason for the existence of the loss of experience, the map and the node?

" People gonna say lots of reasons, but I'm sticking with the most bottom line answer.... they base the game around league cycles of around 3 months. EA isn't a league but that doesn't matter really. In a perfect world, everyone would play an entire league, because players are around to buy stuff during the cyclical stash tab and mtx sales. There wasn't enough content in POE1 for this to really happen, engagement stayed high for a couple months give or take. POE1 had alot of content, like a decade of it, but not quite enough for a whole league, xp loss was lower though and there were 6 portals. Early in POE1 though it was really hard to get enough maps. Basic carrot and stick stuff. POE2 doesn't have an end-game of much depth yet, so they are playing a tightrope game of making content more punishing, so no one gets everything and becomes bored but not so much that everyone yeets because they are fed up with losing. They need a lot of time to get more content out, especially with chasing snakes like the recent duping and so on, so the difficulty is a stall. They will probably add more portals and cut the xp loss down some, it is higher than POE1 afaik, but it is tuned around player engagement over league duration. Everything else is wishful thinking about player experience. Last edited by morganbritches#2970 on Jan 3, 2025, 11:19:10 PM

Exp loss relative to the tedious leveling process at 90+ makes the whole balance completely suck for anyone but extremely diehard players.
I'm glad you are having fun at 95+, but I'm definitely NOT at 92+. |

" I'm with Bacon on this. You can hide your heads in the sand all you want and say that this system is needed, but times have changed. Look at the MMO genre for example: people grew up. People got married, had children, took on real responsibiltiies in the world. I'll keep this short. Assuming there aren't streamers here who are just IV-ed into their computer chairs playing 16+hrs a day or RMT boosters playing similar hours... If you work a normal job and you come home after a hard shift... you're tired. You're looking for a bit of relaxation. You play a few Waystones and, because you're tired, you miss something in all the visual clutter... and you die. Do you: (a) Log off and call it a night -sucks to end on a note like that (b) Let your pride take over and re-grind that XP back for another 40min-1hr (doing about 5-6 keys depending on how much % you get) What if you have a spouse? What if you have a boyfriend/girlfriend? What if you have children? What if you have an actual functioning family dynamic that requires your time, attention and investment? It's becoming very clear who this game is made for: incels with nothing else in their lives except this game. That's the only kind of person who would tolerate this kind of disrespect to their time... because time is all they have. All we have have in this life, are time and choices. Choose happiness, guys. Choose the people in your lives -they want your time and they'll repay it with love. If you don't have that, choose this game. You'll get your in-game achievs. You'll feel special... but you'll know deep down that you've lost at life if this is your flex. |
