Making maps easier from the start and curving up does the exact same thing without needing to add more portals which is what they plan to do

Even with that it is still a HUGE "I quit!" moment.
Life happens, distractions pop up, mistakes are made.

Not getting the runback hurts man.
If they ACTUALLY wanted the game to be a souls-like they'd let you just run everything back an infinite amount of times. But they don't and they won't because the vision is fundamentally flawed.

Most of the complaints about 1 death maps is the lack of knowledge of why they died and too much damage compared to defense. They are addressing visual clarity of on ground effects, longer delays on explosions, making earlier tier maps easier to progress through and nerfing maps in general.

No one is going to care about 1 death once it gets to a state of understanding exactly why I died instead of just instantly dead out of no where

Players will quit when they are fed up with the punishment, loss of XP, and loss of materials crafting/juicing maps....just to name a few.

GGG needs to be more respectful of the players and their time. In the long run, they will have no choice but to relent as their player numbers plummet. It would be financially beneficial to GGG to maintain their current POE2 player base versus letting their user numbers plummet to POE1 numbers. They would be smart to make positive changes to appeal to a larger audience.

K they can go

Devs were clear on xp loss and 1 death in maps.

They are staying so make your choices based on this information

Did we watch the same stream? They even acknowledge the current situation is not ideal, but they have not come up with an ideal solution yet (but want to stick to 1 portal if possible).

Hopefully the same stream. Mark said they arent touching the portals before exhausting every other option.

And then Johnathan on XP as well with how many changes are coming to avliate unexpected deaths, or "surprise offscreen onehots".

So 1 portal and xp loss are staying yes.

most stupid one shots with combined insane mods happen on high tier maps with no way to even react.

they are progressing on it over time. players won't be around with this dogshit system unless the game gets waay easier to get tanky

ya this is really poor decision making on their part. All this signals to me is to drop my ranger and 100% invest into my Energy shield Sorc. What a mess....get a clue GGG
yeah this sucks, I am not playing hardcore and I do not want to be punished for random one shots or bad mob mod combinations by losing maps/loot.

I do not play hardcore, I do not want hardcore systems.

Not to mention that after 2 hours not a single question about the Trials. The ONE thing that the community has been screaming about constantly.

Imho, uber trials are fine as is, let players earn the power, however do not nerf the powers. Make the powers worth the effort to be earned.

That's not the point.
It took them over TWO HOURS to address one of, if not the most, complained about thing in the game. And when they finally did get around to talking about anything Trial related, it was a simple: "Man those last two points are rough."

Every real person I've talked to that's played PoE2, the first thing that gets brought up are the Trials. Everyone I've talked to in person does not like the Trials. Sehkima, Chaos, doesn't matter. Both are bad. When do they bring it up? Not for the last two ascendancy points that's for damn sure. It's the SECOND they touch them. The Trials are the biggest problem in the game right now. And that's all we get.

Instead we get two hours of Magic Find, Economy and portal talk. Some of that is justified. One portal is pretty bad. I know I'm off topic with this. It's just that I felt like everyone in that interview was ignoring the elephant in the room.

Overall I am upset that Trails were not addressed. That was the only reason I was watching that interview. With the hope that I could give my friends some good news. Instead I have no news. Nothing.

And again you conveniently left out the point that Jonathan said quite a lot about acknowledging the issue with the current situation, that he can see that it is too punishing, but have not found a better solution just yet.

So stop with that narrative of "1 portal and XP loss are staying". You don't know that. We don't know that. Even GGG does not now that yet. It was certainly not said explicitely. We have to wait and see on what they will land on.
