What causes the inflation is Tencent who want you to engage in RMT on one of the dozens of shady sites they own. The whole reason for their acquisition of GGG was to facilitate that business model and export it to the West. It’s really as simple as that. PoE 2 is a P2W game.

I'm just saying that PoE isn't P2W in essence, because nothing you can buy in the game will make you “stronger”.

If we assume that currency sales sites (which are, of course, forbidden) are included, then all multiplayer PC games with an economy system are P2W.

The very design of PoE is NOT p2w.

First weeks nobody knew how to farm efficiently & what build to use .

Now we all know that crafting sucks , MF is too strong and the meta is quite advanced now which means everyone and their mothers are playing Witch-Sorceress-Monk to farm T15+ Breach / Trials / Pinnacle on a daily basis with OP builds that got up to 300 MF & beyond .

All of that resulted in a market where everyone is rich and they all trying to get their hands on the same OP items whose price has gone through the roof because everyone play the same damn build .

Then you add to this the various dumping & exploits that happened / are still happening where Cheaters made the situation even worse by out-bidding non-cheaters on OP gear ( and out-farming them ) and this gives you the current PoE 2 market lmao
