Is PoE2 even PoE?
" Everyone has their own reasons. What you belive its for you only. And yet there is this thread full of your posts. |

" You seem confused about what you actually paid for. Buying these packs does not come with a promise that developers will tailor patches to your personal preferences. If they need to delay or adjust content for business or technical reasons, they can do so without your consent and without explaining themselves. You are a customer, not a co-developer, and buying MTX does not give you control over how the company spends this money. They are called Supporter Packs because they literally fund the company. Unlike games sold for an upfront price or subscription models where developers get guaranteed revenue, a free-to-play game relies on ongoing MTX purchases to keep running. Your purchase helps the company continue development, but it does not give you control over patch timing or content decisions. You buy packs for the cosmetics, not because your money will make the game work your way. Thinking otherwise is a misunderstanding and a false expectation of what you have actually paid for. For someone genuinely unhappy with the state of the game, claiming it has been bad for the last two leagues and on a downhill spiral since 3.15, it is a questionable habit to keep buying packs, even as late as the recent league. Spending money will not change release speed or put the game in a state you want it to be. If you’re genuinely unhappy with the game, which is fine, personally I think it is in one of its best states ever. Sure, some spots could use improvements, but overall it’s not as terrible as you make it. You’re not around long enough to truly compare the current state with how PoE has evolved over the years, but a good and healthy piece of advice would be to avoid spending money on something you don’t enjoy. Kind of common sense, really. This is not GGG failing you, nor betraying you. They delivered a product while juggling two titles and continuously updating both. Feeling entitled to dictate exactly how your money, I mean their income, is used and how GGG is supposed to operate is a misunderstanding of what you’ve paid for and what was already delivered to you the moment you made the purchase. " I stopped arguing with these people long ago. They will never acknowledge either our motivations for buying Supporter packs, nor the issue with what was done with those funds. Looked at another way, if we bought them simply for the MTXs, would someone like me, who really enjoys MTXs, stop buying those packs cold turkey (as I have), if I didn't have a serious axe to grind with GGG for what they did? Anyway, I hereby invite anyone who wishes to argue the point about this issue to take it up with someone else. I've made my point, and I'm not gonna debate my motives with a contingent of White Knights and would-be motivational psychologists. =9[.]9= =^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/

" They got you. That's the entire point of marketing. Well Done, you just described GGG's entire marketing strategy in a single sentence. And you also described WHY and HOW it is successful for them. Their entire goal is to spin your thinking in a positive way so that you end up making the purchase you otherwise WOULDN'T........which by your own admission is exactly what you did. And sometimes its as simple as a name. Or a logo. Or a catchphrase. Go ahead and feel betrayed, that's your right. But it must be noted that you were never entitled to anything from them other than the items you purchased, which you received. I am not saying it isn't shady marketing tactics designed to get people exactly like you to spend money....it absolutely IS shady. But ALL MARKETING is shady. It's manipulation. That is the entire field. Technically, any money you spend on any product goes into company coffers and DOES "support" future development of products. But its the MENTALITY that is different. And man did GGG sure manipulate your thinking. They made you THINK that you had a vested interest by "directly" supporting them (which then makes you spend more and more), when in reality its just no different from any other purchase you have made in your life. " Guess what man? That was ALWAYS your right. At any time. It's YOUR money and YOUR purchases. But your "protest" by no longer buying anything means very little. Your previous purchases didn't make you any more important to the company than any other faceless buyer. Short of getting a free EA key, that is. And the ability to immortalize yourself in-game with div cards and other things that you PURCHASED. If I was always an iPhone and Apple devotee, purchased all the iphones from the original up to, idk, 7.....but then I stopped liking the direction of the company, I have every right to NOT buy any more iphones. And I likely WOULD not buy any more iphones. But you think Apple is going to come knocking at your door PERSONALLY asking you what should be changed to get you back? I kept getting new iphones for so long because I "supported" the phones and the company and made personal expectations of future phones. But then....I didn't. That is all one-sided. They don't care. nagi, did you really think when I said "people" that I don't include myself in it? Difference being, I didn't buy packs thinking they'd now "owe" me. I'm a rando from the other side of the globe to them. I don't have a relationship with the company GGG. I'm a consumer who bought a product, and when I don't like the product I don't buy it.
Go ahead and be bitter all you like, but don't go around pretending you've been duped The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

What is POE? If they make POE3 which is like POE2 but not like POE1 then is POE1 not POE?
Philosophy aside clearly POE2 is not POE1. Pick a game that you like more and play that. POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences.
I petition to return all the fun stuff that was removed or nerfed over the years back into POE1. |

" Boss....yes. Might be the first line you've written in forums that I completely and fully agree with. Starting anew....with PoE 2

Cute of you to still feel the need to highlight the fact that you disagree on everything else though. Very mature.

" Yet it was necessary. If I were at all concerned about being "mature", I wouldn't be on these forums at all It's also actually quite a powerful statement: when two diametrically opposed views on PoE actually align, it says something about the topic being discussed.
