reintroduce races and race rewards

"

You're making a massive assumption here, just like your strange piano rant. Who said anything about div card design? Are you reading the thread or just posting lol!

Im just saying itd be cool to reintroduce races and race prizes.

what massive assumption? I'm quoting YOU. This is your argument, not mine.

You personally find no value in the alt art and are the one making a massive assumption that they "hold no value" for anyone. This is the impetus for everything you have posted beyond the OP.

I am refuting all of that.

Nothing strange about the piano metaphor, or the prize comment. You seem to be under the impression that an alt art reward is fundamentally different prize than the other prizes that were awarded for competitions......which they are NOT. They all fall under the SAME category of "exclusive rewards for winning / placing in that particular competition".

You are also trying to argue two different things at the same time: 1) not having competitions and 2) the prizes for the competitions. I am ONLY commenting on the prize aspect, and my entire post is about that.

Whether or not we have another race means nothing to me. The one comment I DID make about that is.....if you want to RACE, as this quoted post suggests, then the prize doesn't really matter. You simply want them to host more competitions. Fine.

*I find it rather....odd...that you comment on the "length" of the Gauntlet being so short, and yet what you are trying to get reinstated are RACES which are.....way shorter.

i just think itd be fun man, its not that deep
Hey if they put free mystery boxes and mtx just for participating and reaching a certain level like we used to have in those old endless ledge races and so on I'm down for that. Free stuff is always good. I've even won some MTX from certain events where you entered raffles at lvl80-85-90-95.

The topic is referring to much older seasonal events from well before your time playing the game, events that exclusively rewarded alternate art items and Demigod items rather than resembling the modern event leagues we see today.
You did not participate in those ladder race events at all, which makes it clear that there is confusion about both the subject being discussed and the context of the topic itself.

wat

I've been playing on and off since 2015.

A race event is a race event, doesn't matter when it was held. I did play in stuff like endless ledge ages ago. The ones that they held for like a few hours then closed. And then the later ones like flashback/restart league events etc.
The funny april fools battle royale mode where you would fight other players with a completely different skill tree that they designed in 1 day. I've played in quite a few events.

Dunno which ones gave out fancy demigod items and alt art items, all I'm saying is more events with free rewards would be cool. Which is on-topic kek

Besides, we all know the exact same few players would keep winning these events over and over anyways just like the gauntlet. Its not very interesting to watch if the same people win every time, nor does it motivate anyone to even play which is why other mtx rewards and mystery box handouts are needed. Maaaybe if they prevent the winner of the previous event from participating in the next, then an actual interesting competition could happen because then everyone else has a chance at first place at least. And obviously more events need to be in SC and not HC-exclusive.

Don't think we'll see any more events until PoE 2 is in 1.0 though.

You joined in late 2015, after most of these races had already taken place. You also did not participate in the last four seasons before the system was left behind, which ran from the end of 2015 into 2016, and you only started playing the game somewhat actively around mid 2016.

Given that you never played the old school ladder races at all, it is reasonable that you would confuse them with regular end of league bridge events.
However, this topic is about those old ladder races specifically, not the average bridge event, which explains the misunderstanding.

You would not know, since you were not playing the game at the time.

If you are unfamiliar with how the old events functioned, it is wiser to refrain from weighing in on the topic, even if a sense of FOMO tempts you to join the discussion.

The topic at hand is still not about your average end-of-league events.

No FOMO here, just a desire for more fun events with free stuff offered for playing in them. I doubt we'll get anything like Phrecia again but might aswell give my feedback on it lol

You are still conflating regular events with the old events. Phrecia is not one of the older events and has no place in this discussion. This topic is about the old season events, not your typical gap-filler activities. Showing up here to derail the discussion with unrelated events, clearly motivated by free MTX, reads as nothing but pure FOMO. If you do not understand what this discussion is actually about, the only sensible move is to stay out of it.

Ooh, somebody else I will continue to ignore! You argue simply for the sake of argument. Bye! =^[.]^=

Trick with ignoring people: actually ignore them by not quote-replying to them.

Don't tell me what to do, Art. Thanks. =^[.]^=

There’s really no need to tell Art what not to do in an open forum, he’s just using it as it was meant, to encourage open discussion and freely share others’ words.
Honestly, he made a very fair point. As he said, if you dislike or disagree with something, maybe it’s best not to quote it and not to argue just for the sake of arguing.
