I definitely agree and I wish there was a way to get more in here. If you look under "Old Builds" there is another version (that can probably be optimized a bit) that takes another endurance charge and runs 1 less aura. Overall I feel that being able to run a 4th aura like Purity is stronger than taking 1-2 extra endurance charges. If you take a look at the aura stats section it adds a ridiculous amount to your stats. Personally I will be taking the one from Merciless Oak for a total of 4, which is still decent. I plan on taking the "free" one from oak. Given the scion start, and trying to build around EB, Auras, Mind over Matter, and AA; it's really difficult to get any more from the tree. I have been playing around with some rebuild ideas today at work by trying to dabble a little more in the duelist area for the health, shield, leather & steel, and End charge nodes. Not really liking what I'm coming up with.

It might just be the case that the auras need to speced at having just three (hatred, clarity, grace) and swapping out grace for purity in a pinch. With less focused on mana and mana reserved, picking up 1 more from the tree (bring the total to 5) seems possible and might be a worthy tradeoff. Of course then you are sacrificing your mana pool for Mind over Matter, so yeah.

No offense but that is a pretty different build then what we are talking about. There is no way he can run and sustain AA. He doesnt take a single block node or any of the 3 endurance charges. Not a fan of that build and really wouldnt call it defensive as it is more life stacking build than anything else.

IMO for a surviviabilty build, you need to have a well rounded character. Having enough mana regen to run AA, enough mana to run MoM, enough shield block to actually block at a reliable rate, enough armor to take a big hit that isnt blocked and not mitigated through AA and enough dmg to leech back life and have enough clear speed to make it truly effective. EK provides the last part without taking many of the damage nodes (spell power, proj dmg etc).

The build presented here does a very good job at these, I just think that it is prioritizing some of the wrong pts in the tree. Overall great job, Im enjoying the discussion on this build :)

Edit to add that obv you need enough HP, but that is a given

I agree that his build isn't nearly as well rounded overall (IMO) as you can get with an EB build (EB just seems to allow SO much flexibility...which is why we have so much awesome discussion in here). However I do think that it's a lot simpler to run, and easier to gear for while still being viable end-game. I just wanted to post it as a possible more pure survivability based alternative.

What I would really love to learn (and if someone could somehow calculate this stuff that would be amazing, I'll get to it eventually but the sooner the better for planning purposes) is calculating a moderately accurate "Effective HP" number taking into account % Evasion Nodes vs Life Nodes and another one that factors in MoM with higher regen and mana leech.

So like everyone now knows that EK Scion is strongest build right now ... ?

Unless my calculations are wrong, your build a few pages back only had +136% life. I see it has 2 more end. charges, much better shield block chances, and US; but man that life seems really low for a HC character. It also only has 20% mana reservations, which would be awesome if that's all you need to run 2 high level auras + AA + EK with mana.

I do love that you got Leather & Steel One of my favorite nodes.

How far have you made it in progression? I'm curious if you are in 60+ range, and how all the various damage mitigation is going for you as opposed to having say another +70-100% life.

One thing you seem to have overlooked a bit is Mind Over Matter. He only has 136% life because he is relying on having a large mana pool (also why he runs less auras) and soaking up damage with it. I agree that 136% does seem a bit too low even with MoM though.

Youtuber ZiggyD's lvl70 EK EB/MoM Scion. Takes a different approach than what is discussed here, but gets to a similar destination. Biggest differences I see is he chose to drop/ignore Ballistic Mastery and only run purity & clarity.
