[Nemesis] HP EK Scion - Arctic Armor + EB + MoM - 5+ Auras

"
Hatred - 64.08% of Physical as Cold for you. 55.44 for party.

That's some deeps right there!!

I am interested in min maxing the aura efficiency with defense at some point. Haven't had a lot of time to play, so I'm still leveling.
So how is everyone doing with their Scion EK chars? I hit 55 last night and am out farming on the ledge to gain some levels in merciless.

I have IR and Ballistic Mastery, but am unsure where to go next. Should I head up to EB first or over to the templar side for Sovereignty?

I think my next step is to get Clarity moved over to BM so I can run two normal auras at the same time. I'm also wanting to get arctic armor up and running, but I am not sure I have the mana to back that up yet.

I have not leveled up as far as I wanted to at this point due to work mostly but my plan was to go the same route you did (maybe skip taking Ballistic to save 3 nodes depending on how my character feels at that point).

I would work up to EB as it will take awhile to get there. You should start keeping good hybrid ES gear if you haven't already that you can use when you get EB (mostly a shield). I would run straight to EB, then head down to get the reduced mana reserved near Influence as it's only 2 nodes away. Unless you really need the extra HP right now I would forgo picking up some of the HP nodes to get to the reduced mana ones ASAP so you can run more auras. After EB and the reduced mana node (I would even skip going up to Influence from it for now) I would run straight to the reduced mana in the Templar tree.

As for the other stuff, I definitely recommend getting Clarity on a BM if you have life leech. This will let you run Hatred + Grace which is should be a nice armor boost. For Arctic Armor you might be able to run it as long as you aren't moving, it will get a lot easier once you pick up EB.

I'm 1 point from IR on my build. I have already taken the 34% health boosts near IR as up until last night I had exactly 0 pieces of gear with +maxlife. It's been some crap gear for me, but still leveling as been relatively painless.

I already have Ballistic Mastery. Next thing I'm doing is taking the mana reserve nodes near there and near scion start so I can run Hatred + Grace/Purity effectively. Also found a mana leech and life leech gem last night, so those will help when I get some damn sockets. After that I think it's probably time to grab the combo EB/MoM.

Ethereal Knives. I suggest looking at the wiki for any questions about skills names...etc.

I really need the HP, lol. I'm into Merciless now and getting enough life/resists is a big challenge for a new character so I can't really afford to skip health nodes. Especially with the 450 health reserved for Clarity :( I took the 3 18% resist nodes near the center and a few mana % increase ones as well - I'll drop those eventually as they will be obsoleted by better gear, but right now they are pretty valuable.

My feeling is that EB is not that valuable without Sovereignty, and I have a nice evasion shield that I would be loathe to swap out for an ES one until my gear is in a better place. More health nodes over on the templar side too... arg, I am torn on which way to go first, lol.

I feel your pain man. There are so many good nodes to choose from :(. Just keep in mind that EB is 9 nodes away from Harrier, which is a decent amount late-game as leveling slows down. I love hearing that you deviated and took extra nodes that are helpful to you for now. Not enough people do that and I worry that some people will stick to hard to the outlined build which is made to be optimal end-game with good gear.

Sounds like you want to head up towards Templar area to get Sovereignty, and grab the huge Purity of Flesh HP nodes along the way. You are 25 skills points away from getting that Templar stuff and EB. Also keep in mind that once you have both you should be able to run 3-4 auras including Clarity which should help with the lack of HP nodes. It's actually a really tough decision :(

Gems/Auras

Bear Trap + Added Fire Damage + Culling Strike + Iron Will

Iron Will does not work with Bear Trap.

http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/83558/page/1/#p936263

The Damage that Bear Trap does is non-spell/non-attack. Iron Will would work with Fire Trap for Example because the Damage Fire Trap does is Spell Damage as noted in Gem Discription itself.

Other viable option for the fourth Link would be Increase Critial Strike Chance or maybe Item Rarity for them epic extra loots. Back in Open Beta it was very popular to link a second Bear Trap so you could throw 6 instead of 3 but since the Recharge Time has been reduced i guess that would be a waste.
The one problem I have with your build is the lack of the 2 or 3 extra endurance charges that this build doesnt have. Those 2 (or 3) extra will provide a very nice additional increase in survivability. Not only the 4% physical dmg reduction and 4% resistance it provides per charge (with oaks endurance charge that is 24% or 28% additional phyiscal dmg reduction) but it will also provide increased duration on immortal call (linked to a leveled cast on dmg taken is op!) and the additional 1.2 or 1.4% life regen while they are active. If the build wants to focus more on dmg and aura maxing then this post is way off, however, if you are looking for solid survivability, its hard to pass up the extra endurance charges.
