[Nemesis] HP EK Scion - Arctic Armor + EB + MoM - 5+ Auras

Life should be in the 150% range, atleast thats how I intended (and calculated in my head) but the link could be wrong (ill double check after this post). I will have a larger mana pool and with MoM that should add 30% effective hp to the build. Goal is to end up at roughly 180% hp

The 20% mana res is enough for me. I want to run Hatred, Tempest Shield and Clarity. I will have roughly 900 mana (assuming I have 2100 mana overall; easily doable). Running mana leech and roughly 250 mana/sec, I feel comfortable only having 900 mana left to cast and MoM.
Would lightning coil be a good item for this build?

Here is my current progression:

Lvl 49.. so close to 50, just couldn't stay awake last night. Into A3 Cruel.

Current tree

Looking closely at it now, it's fairly DPS heavy. Probably because I went for ballistic mastery fairly early for the increase range as the low level faster projectiles wasn't doing it. Next point is going to be Shaper. After that I might connect the life wheel and shaper and remove all the + Proj dmg nodes at the start of the tree or leave them with the idea to remove Ballistic Mastery later. From Harrier to Ballistic Mastery is 13 points and I also pick up 15% aura mana reduction and Mana Geyser. That's borderline to me of being worth it, esp after seeing ZiggD's video of his EK range without it.

Currently around ~1750 life, ~200ES, ~700 Mana, with 2.2K armor (running grace). I run Grace or Hatred or Purity, Clarity, and EK all on mana with little problems.

Still struggling with gear as I assume anyone would in a fresh league with a fresh character. It has made capping resists a pain as I have been RNG screwed when it comes to gear with cold resist.
I too have been second guessing the 3 nodes to get harrier. I think it would be better to drop those, and you can pick up the cast speed right from the start area and for one more node you can get the big Savant node. Also I noticed a spot on the tree where I can trade a 8% HP node for a 6% HP + 8% mana node. I updated the tree with this stuff!

The other branch to the right also has those nodes.
Sonofa...this is true. But since we are getting down to 240% HP already I will leave them off for now. However these nodes would be a great pickup if you need any more mana/have enough HP.

I'm up to 62 now - feeling pretty good about the build so far!

Current passive tree

Heading towards Sovereignty next, then Holy Strength for more health, then to EB.

I was lucky enough to get a cast on damage taken gem so I have been running that with molten shell, enduring cry and decoy totem. Its awesome! It means I need strength though so I picked up a +30 STR node (also wearing a STR neck). Once I get up to the life nodes near EB, I'll get +50 STR so that should help in that department.

With molten shell, grace and my jade flask running, my armor is almost 80% reduction. Add that with the endurance charges and physical damage reduction is amazing.

I tried running arctic armor, but I can't quite make it work yet - not enough regen. My gear is obviously crappy being in a new league on my first char and its all focused on life/resists without much else right now.

You can see I took the three 18% resist nodes - once I hit merciless, this became necessary. I'll drop them eventually when my gear is better, but with the Nemesis mods especially, I wanted to have all my resists capped (merciless volatile blood and storm heralds are a good way to lose non-capped characters).

I am running Clarity with blood magic (-440 health) which leaves me at a bit over 2500 health. Its lower than I want it for the vaal fight, but I have some easy gear upgrades I should be able to make before then.

I'm usually running grace + purity now which leaves me feeling pretty safe defensively. I ran purity + hatred while ledge farming and its a huge dps boost, so I am looking forward to the day when I can run them all!

Dps (1150) is adequate for now though, even with a really crappy wand and a shield with no spell damage. I did take Ballistic Mastery though, which was a nice dps boost, and I also felt that the extra range was very nice for survivability reasons. Later on maybe I don't need that projectile speed and can spec out of it into cast speed or something - we'll see, but right now I wouldn't trade the projectile speed for more damage. I havn't taken any cast speed so far because I feel like it would start to cause mana issues (and I want to use extra mana to run arctic armor before I worry about dps).

So far, I'm very happy - extremely tanky and solid dps while wearing garbage gear. It should all start to scale up nicly as my gear improves. Everything you need for a first character on Nemesis :)

Really enjoying the build so far! Any chance you can post your gear to get an idea of what to look out for?
Having Riley link his would be good, mine is useless as I'm rerolling since I died to a disconnect haha. Back up almost into Cruel as of tonight tho! Going fast.

I'm lvl 71 and this works so far.

leaving very specific threats aside you should breeze through the content with little gear prowess once you got the build going (lvl 40-50). And anything before that point is kinda easy unless you pick a build thats hard on early game (not this case).

Cast on dmg taken + Mlt. Shield + End. Cry + Rej/decoy totem will make a HUGE difference. Try to focus on that asap. I rather have rejuvenation totem since this build does not have much x% regeneration, we also get that increased by all our buff passive nodes.
[Do no level this cast on mana gem]

After that you can make variations of the recommended build depending on your needs.

-If you lack damage: there are several projectile nodes near ballistic mastery. Since EK can only get damage from spell/projectile/non-melee Phys. damage nodes (not that abundant near our tree). I suggest you take them if/when you can spare the points.

-You can temporarily get the 3 res nodes at the starting point if you're lacking elemental res.

-Another interesting variation would be taking the body and soul cluster in the templar side, it is just one node away from the reduced/buffed aura cluster. You can get 60% armor, 8% AllRes and 46% ES for 6 passive points. Mana can be tight if you still haven't found a good ES gear or running 5/6L, armor escalates all the armor we get from Eva/Grace/ER, Jade/Granites and Armor Gear.

But if your survivability and mana are just peachy you could use those 6 passive points polishing other aspects.

Arctic armor also makes a huge difference, consider this ES/armor cluster if you still can't run it.

I've also been running some 66 maps just fine. You just got to be careful with the super hard hitting bosses (blacksmith, the Brutus one, things like that.).

And alwyas keep flasks that dispell all the thing you don't have covered.
