Player based will leave and this game will die out if they don't remove the XP Penalty

You didn't even play the previous league and how would it ruin it for you if you barely play the game? I would understand others I've replied with but you?

LOL BRO. Yeah, I admit, I didn't play the previous league of PoE2. That's true. And you know what else is true ? You didn't either.

PoE 2 never had a previous league so obviously I was referring to PoE 1.

Did I say PoE2? Who's twisting words here?

That's all you can do? Since you've failed to provide samples of what you're saying then you just troll the next replies? That's just pathetic.

You want PoE2 to be PoE1, that's the issue right there. Have you noticed ; it's not the same game. Go back to the 1 if you like it so much, it's still there. Why do you force yourself to be there if you can't enjoy a game for what it is ?

When did I say this? The issue right here is you can't provide samples to your argument and then you twist the story playing the victim. Don't change the topic.

At least add a quotation that I said this then it would be more believable.

the title of this post is not accurate
End game as it stands it just trast and I balanced to the point of no dopamine because reward is so rare regardless of what features are good or not. Its currently terrible please stop deffending it and let people talk about things they don't like.

You dont see people attacking possitive posts so how immature is it that your attacking negative. Grow up and join a thread you agree with to give possitive feedback.

It IS an empty phrase. You're playing the game, it's a recreational activity not actually pulling a stone to the top of some mountain. As with any recreational activity, your time is either wasted or not depending on how you view gaming in general.

And if you think you're time is being "stolen" or "wasted" by xp loss it means you don't really enjoy the core gameplay in the first place - because how on earth time you ENJOYED can be called "wasted" - in which case, why do you even bother?

It was really convenient for you to cut out my quote about negative progress after spending valuable time, wasn't it?

You spent valuable time on something you enjoyed. That "negative progress" thing is a common feature in a lot of games since monopoly, there's absolutely nothing wrong about it.

Maybe time is not valuable to you, but time is extremely valuable to others. When people say they don't feel like their time is respected, it's not just an empty phrase.

People want their time to be respected. Entertainment time is no different. If I am not having fun, I may feel like my time was "wasted." Pretty simple concept. Shitty movie? Terrible comedian? Bad service and worse food? Unfair death penalties? All can be forms of "wasted" time. Forgive me for being blunt, but I am starting to think you can't see beyond your own nose here and are failing to actually consider other peoples' experiences and perspectives, as if yours and yours alone is the only one that's valid.

Well yeah that's the entire point, if you don't enjoy something you're wasting your time. But death penalty has no special place here.

I can consider other people's experiences and perspectives. You don't like something and want it removed, cool, but don't pretend EVERYONE wants it removed. There also not a whole lot of ARPGs with penalties like that, you want to literally screw people who prefer it this way by ruining basically the only game that's built in a way they like. You also don't consider the perspective of hardcore players, who WILL eventually be screwed by XP penalty removal because the game is being balanced around standard.

Actually. On hardcore xp penalty is irrelevant. Your die 1 time your gone. Xp is literally not even a real word in hardcore.

Why are you talking about a previous league ? Why are you talking about PoE 1 ? What does that have to do with PoE2 ? Do you realize you are replying on a topic talking about PoE2 here ?
The loss of experience doesn't bother me at all.

I would like to die less often (although not so often), but this is a completely different question.
I think what you really need is better defenses. Right now the only defensive stat that actually works is Energy Shield. If you are not running an Energy Shield build you will die far more often and that will give you more XP loss.

The current amount of XP lost per death is reasonable, and differs based on how far along in the level you are. That system is solid and has been around for many other games besides this one. What is not solid is the defensive stats in the Early Access version of this game....keep in mind it is Early Access, so early in fact that we only have half of the skills/classes/items to choose from.

There's nothing wrong with the current XP loss, and anyone who has played POE in the past will not bat an eyelash over it. The defensive skills will hopefully be fixed in a future patch.

Completely agree. I beleave the entire end game is trash and need an entirely new concept but I also feel that new balance changes will actually effect how the game feels and could potentially make a terrible game feature feel good and more enjoyable.
