T17s are still an overtuned mess that are also annoying to roll

Uhm, that's like your opinion. You are welcome to have that opinion, but don't state it as fact. Not everything that's been invented years ago is bad only because it's been a few years since.

When did they invent the wheel again? So outdated!

it is a fact, when you can objectively see that its implementation into games is extremely scarce and barely none existent anymore. That is an a factual proof that it is a terrible game mechanic, cause neither players or developers at large gravitate towards it.

If you cannot even say why something is "bad" your post is just as redundant as calling it "old" or "outdated."

The theory of preformationism (that believed all life existed since the beginning) is outdated since the discovery of DNA as well as the atomic theory. Or in laymen terms: a better theory was found. Nowhere in your remarks can I find even a hint of a better system.

Bosses resetting is seen all over gaming by the way. Hell, there are games that make you start all over if you just die once and it's part of the gameplay loop. Corpse-rushing bosses during campaign is bad design. Ignoring boss mechanics through sheer DPS and just using portals as extra lives is bad design. Resetting boss health on death on the other hand adds skill expression because either you do the mechanics properly or you learn them in the process. No freebies.

i can easily say why something is bad, there are multitudes of reasons and the one i am mentioning that you cant "Read" it seems, is general player dislike and developer ignorance of the mechanic. You only see it in MMORPGS and souls like games anymore, which soulslike games has one successfull genre, which is the souls games, but in those games they arent made around random multipliers additions and mods like poe maps are, neither do we have arbitrary invulnerability phases.

Want more proof, show a single instance of making POE more hardcore that was well received in the last 5 years ? The developers are massively out of touch with their big and majority more casually oriented playerbase, which is why PoE 2 is being made completely seperate from PoE 1.

If this were true we wouldnt be seeing larger and larger numbers each league of players. Which we are.

And we also wouldnt see larger and larger sign ups for the gauntlet. Which we are.

Sorry data does not support your opinion.

Nice save edit torf. Put the arrow back for all to see.

Couldn't have said it better myself. PoE has so much randomness that it just doesn't work to make it giga hardcore or like a soulslike or anything like that. There are too many factors outside the player's control, like what archnemesis mods a rare could have, or the pure pain that is rolling t17 maps lol

And that large number of players is in sc trade, not in hc, not in ruthless, not in ssf. People just play this game to have fun and kill a bunch of monsters, which is why sc trade is the most popular among the playerbase. A lot of people complain when they add really bad stuff to the game and make bad changes.

And yet, the number of players keeps growing.

Again, sorry data doesn't support your opinions.

Maybe try a different game more your style? Maybe D4?

Nah I'm gonna just wait until they nerf t17s so they're actual playable content instead of the mess they are now. Don't care how long it takes, either power creep will allow us to do them as easily as t16s or they will have to nerf them. It's inevitable, all I have to do is wait.

Already does, you just lack the build/skill for them

I've only ever done one T17 (in SSF), but I would say that some of the new monsters that are T17 exclusive are over-tuned. In my map, which was rolled to be as easy and low-damage as possible, I got those ball lightning mechs that absolutely shredded my 84 all max res (overcapped for exposure and ele res curse immune), 76 chaos res, 9 max endurance charge, shock immune Jugg. Died like three or four times to them each time in less than a second. The damage seems more than a bit excessive... I generally only die to pinnacle bosses/invitations. Then I did the boss, got hit by everything because I'm bad mechanically, but still managed to survive and beat him (the expedition boss) in one go, no problem. That doesn't seem right to me.

And then there are the T17 map mods... I just plain don't understand them. If I'm dying several times in a single, low-damage map with 84% max elemental resists, 76% chaos resist, 9 endurance charges VERY easily... Then what do I need to have to survive the maps with multiple high damage mods? And are those requirements really necessary for a BRIDGE to Ubers (honestly asking, I don't know)? I get the impression that the devs are unsure whether they actually want the T17 maps to be a bridge to Ubers or if they want it to be Uber-pinnacle content itself. Maybe more map tiers are needed...

If I were to change anything about T17s, other than the previously mentioned overtuned monsters, I think GGG should just remove the whole "T17s can only be rare" mechanic to them and instead make it so that Uber fragments can only drop in rare T17s. This would at the very least make it possible for players to learn the new boss fights in a safer setting and prepare for harder mods/rare T17s.

Yeah those exact same shaper influence robots with the insanely quick-hitting lightning balls that go back and forth have also been a huge annoyance and killed me many times. And it's not just them, a lot of the t17 specific mob packs are insanely out of whack. I agree they just need to let us use all currency on these maps, so that people who wanna use an orb of scouring on them can just do so.

And the map mods are just ridiculous, no reason for any of the valdo map mods to even be included in these, they just stacked way too many things on top of eachother in these maps. They're just a chore to run atm
