1 MAP - 1 DEATH HAS TO GO

I believe maps should have the honor system.

I believe maps should have the honor system.

Lol the true sadist
I refuse to even attempt to engage with endgame bosses at the moment due to the severe time and/or currency investment required for a single attempt. This stance will not change until one of the two things occurs:

1) We get 6 portals back. Bosses resetting to full HP and whatnot upon leaving the arena for any reason is perfectly reasonable, however.

2) I am running a build so absurdly powerful that it can survive most of their mechanics and can 1 shot them.
I've read both sides of the argument, and I'm loving everything so far EXCEPT for the 1 death map-ends mechanic. I understand that some people like the update as it adds a bit more risk/reward, but there is so much going on in the game that it is extremely difficult to see what's on the ground for some builds (example: delayed exploding mobs on death, that in a pack, can one shot you). Potential solutions: Increase map sustain in early mapping or meet us in the middle with 3 portals per map. Preference would be to go back to the 6 portals, as it feels much more forgiving and allows for some flexibility.

If this doesn't change then enjoy playing dead leagues with the same player count as Ruthless. It has to change. It's an insult to all the players and a complete disrespect of their time. And people will simply uninstall and go play better games that don't punish them every 2 seconds for existing.

It would be completely disrespectful towards my efforts in getting good at the game if they now made it easier.

You only get punished every 2 seconds if you're bad. This is not a game for bads. Bads will be filtered out. You'll be surprised how many players actually value a game with a challenge instead of a theme park.

Lol
All my map deaths have been from... you guessed it; white mobs.

Why are some white mobs stronger than bosses? I've literally been 1-shot. Poof map. As if the map droprate isn't bad enough already. Dying and losing a map is devastating. I run maps sometimes... red maps and I get T1 or T2 drops. Why? Also why doesn't Doryani sell high tier maps? If I'm in red maps, why is he still selling me the same T4 map once every 24 IRL hours? Maps are way too hard to sustain. There's too much RNG involved.

Either stop with the low tier map drops in high tier maps or get rid of the 1-death/map. The deaths are almost always from some nonsense.

I love difficult games btw and I'm excited to play SSF HC once the game is fully released but this feels like an unnecessary and cheap way to ruin peoples fun.

Spent 2 hours today farming atlas to find a citadel. Spent another hour unlocking all towers around it. Juiced the towers. Ran into the citadel. Clear it pretty easily up til boss. Ilvl 82. Fight boss. Beat boss. I run up to get loot. Something falls from ceiling and one shots me....

3 hours lost. About 50exalt lost. Rolling 16 maps. About 20 15s lost in rolling for a good 16.

Yesterday. Spent all day farming for 2 citadel. First one like above alot of investment in currency and time. Boss has a attack speed modifier and stun locks me and kills me. It was moving faster then I could dodge. Lesson learned. Second citadel. Dorya. Again time and currency investment. Get him to second phase and chaos attack one shots me.

Im done with early access lol. If they keep this stupid one death shit I won't play full release either. Feel like I'm playing diablo 4 for f sake...

D4 never punished you for having the stupidity to play the game

Hardcore deletes your character upon death. This is a lame argument. Deleting a char and deleting a map is not even close comparison.

The arpg softcore mode of your deaths have no consequence is quite lame. Where is the challenge? Do you just want to be rewarded for playing the game where everyone gets participation trophies

Yes exactly, all the hardcore comparisons are nonsense, it's hardcore for babies and still too much.

And yes what many people here are after is participation trophy game. No resets, no boss health bar reset, 11 portals whatever. I have to play hc in arpgs just to avoid all that crap, hope it dies with PoE 2.

Same here brother. And I'm with you . I don't enjoy playing hardcore in arpg's but it's the only way you can actually have something challenging or makes you feel rewarded. It sucks having your character get deleted and 40 hours wasted. We need a middle ground. This feels like a good middle ground.

And for those who want a participation trophy so they can 'chill' and brain off there's literally every other arpg ever created. Let us have one thing sheesh

I too hope POE2 gives softcore a boost up so deaths aren't meaningless.

I sincerely hope both of you get professional help to determine why you need so much torture and punishment to feel accomplished in a video game. And also I hope you understand that your desire for such a sweaty, try-hard level of play to feel accomplished will kill this game and all support for it. So instead of being pigheaded, maybe offer some constructive options for a middle-ground instead of gatekeeping.
